Does member services ever put rooms back in to inventory?

I know member services will put villas in CRO inventory due to trades and such. My question is can the rooms ever be put back in to member inventory? I have been waitlisted for a villa at BWV or BCV for the end of April. When I go thru CRO there are several studios and 1BRs available. If they do not sell the rooms would they ever let members rent them on points at the last minute? I do have a villa at VWL and have never stayed there so I'm OK either way. I would just really like to be on the boardwalk.

I think they can, but I have no idea of the circumstances that would lead to them doing it.

A few years ago I called and asked for a room at "A" or "B" (can't remember the exact resorts.) The rep said she didn't have anything at "A" but could get me into "B". She proceeded to book the room. After the reservation was complete I asked to be placed on the waiting list for "A". She basically said "hang on, let me check something" and put me on hold for about 5 minutes. When she came back on, she said that she got me a room at "A".

Since she didn't find anything on the first pass, my assumption has always been that she somehow was able to pull the room back from CRO inventory.

There's no way of knowing where you stand on the waitlist so whether that would even help you is unknown. Good luck.

I think a lot depends upon how CRO aquired the room. I have had them "pull back" a room from CRO before...but I was adding a day less than 60 days out, and it may have been turned over to CRO as an unreserved DVC room.

Thanks for the info! My husband just called to check into it with member services and wouldn't you know.....Our waitlist came thru We're now staying at BWV.

More ironic that I have called at least a half dozen times and the FIRST time my husband has EVER called MS he got the waitlist notification

My husbby is taking me down over my 39th (and last) birthday to golf. Can't wait! Now the only bad thing is we tend to buy things at Wyland Galleries and now we are right there! Guess my birthday just got more expensive
