Does Jetblue cancel routes?

I booked our flight to Florida for our trip in June. We are doing multi cities. I was only able to book one way as our return is after June 17th. I noticed they recently opened booking through 9/5/15. However, they are not offering a return back to my hometown from Orlando. I was not expecting that and now not sure what to do? Do they release in stages? Or has my route back been changed?

Could you be more specific? Are you saying that your return date from MCO is before Sept 15, 2015 and there are no flights from MCO to your home airport? It's possible that the route is seasonal. What is your home airport?

If no JetBlue flights are available, you could book another airline for the return.

Yes, I'm flying Sac to Nyc. Then, NYC to Fort Meyers. Then, Orlando to Sac. For all the months prior to June, JetBlue flies Orlando to Sac. I'd switch airlines but now the return price has gone up. I was banking on the free bag. I just didn't know if they release in stages. I could fly home via southwest.

Did you mean you're flying from SMF rather than SAC?

It looks like JetBlue's last flight SMF-MCO is June 17th, then there are no flights through the latest release dates through the first week in September. It's either a seasonal flight or they are dropping this route. You'll have to book another airline home.

I often fly in/out of SMF and I don't always see a SMF-MCO or a MCO-SMF route very often. It just could be at that time JetBlue just doesn't fly the MCO-SMF route. I'm sure they release routes every so often, just like they do cancel routes, but that's not something you can count on.

In the past when I was trying to specifically fly JetBlue, I've tried looking at flights through LGB, AUS or JFK. Those seem to have routes back and forth with SMF and MCO in them. It's tough though and you may have to book the legs separately which adds to the work you'll have to do at the airport with the luggage.

If I were you though, and based on what you can see at the SMF airport itself, I would just fly Southwest, you'll get the free luggage, if you are looking for that.

Guessing at your return date, this routing I found on itasoftware dot com is $312 pp:

thanks... That is what I figured. I booked SMF to JFK because it was nonstop and it worked in our schedule. I'll wait for Soûthwest.

thanks for trying. Our return date is Friday, 6/26.

Okay, same routing, but it's $332 pp. And on the 26th, that's the lowest fare of all the currently published rates.

well, I tried again and it gave me an error message that said that basically said that your route may be seasonal, sold out, etc... So not sure what your website is trying to show. I guess, I could book MCO to NYC and then, book NYC to SMF. Edited: Okay I did the multi city option for MCO to JFK and then, JFK to SMF and the cheapest flight was $468. It appears that the nonstop flight from JFK to SMF is seasonal as the routing would be MCO to JFK, JFK to LGB then LGB to SMF.

BTW I tried this route on Jetblues website and it does not appear. It says the same error message when I try the MCO to SMF.
