Hi, I have made my mind up . We want to take an Alaskan Cruise with Disney. Now we are DVC Members and I have a question. Does Disney ever have discounted Cruises or offerings? Thanks!
I'm sorry what does IGT OGT and VGT stand for?
Guaranteed inside oceanview or verandah. It means your room is guaranteed at that level minimum but you won't know what room you'll get.I'm sorry what does IGT OGT and VGT stand for?
Not really. There's myth and legend of old kids cruise free but that was abandoned for kidless passengers.Thank you! So they never publish anything like 2nd passenger 1/2 price or anything like that?

GT (IGT, OGT, VGT) is a last-minute, discounted & restricted rate (absolutely no refunds or changes allowed), & is different from other types of guarantees (GTY) which are not restricted & also not discounted, fyi. What both types have in common is that you won't be able to select your exact stateroom, but they also leave open the remote possibility of getting an upgrade to a better cabin type.I'm sorry what does IGT OGT and VGT stand for?
Beat me by two minutes from my post. Onboard you can book a placeholder for a few hundred dollars, and later apply that toward a deposit for a cruise on opening day when the new cruise itineraries come out, so you can get that 10% off onboard booking benefit. The combination of opening day pricing, 10% off, and a $100 or $200 onboard credit (based on length of sailing) is your best bet for a discount in most cases. There are blackout dates (mostly around Christmas & New Years) for the application of onboard booking benefits, however.
It is not always the case. We paid less than opening day prices 4x now booking VGT.I've heard from a couple of sources that opening day pricing is almost always going to be the best price you can get, even taking IGT, OGT, VGT, military and Florida residency into account.
One other tip for reducing price is to rebook on board. That's good for 10% off (unless you're doing concierge.)
