Does anyone know who the woman is whose voice is frequently heard on various recorded announcements all over Epcot? Among other things, she's the voice of the countdown announcements for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth: "In just a few minutes, Epcot will present IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. The show can be experienced all around the World Showcase Lagoon. Due to lower light levels during the show, please watch your step and take small children by the hand. Get ready, because tonight's celebration of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will begin in just 5 minutes."

This same woman does all the announcements for the Candlelight Processional, the Flower Power Concerts, the Eat to the Beat Concerts and various other things. I'm used to hearing her at Epcot and honestly can't recall if her voice is used in the other parks.

I've heard this woman's voice so much over the years that she almost seems like an old friend. I just wonder who she is.

no clue........but I know who you are talking about.......

OR Russi Taylor (voice of Minnie Mouse and real-life wife of Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse... no, I'm not kidding.)

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything in particular that makes you think it might be one of those two?

Yes, I have my reasons.

But before I respond,
I have to ask YOU why you're asking this question.

That almost as cool as Walt doing both Mickey and Minnie.

While Walt did provide the voice for Mickey he was not the voice of Minnie. The original voice of Minnie Mouse was Marcellite Garner.

The voice of the Epcot announcements belongs to Mary Thompson Hunt. Mary is also a performer at Pleasure Islands Comedy Warehouse and does a variety of other performance work at WDW such as conventions and special events.

I answered the question in the post above yours.

You beat me to it, peter11435! She was our "guest" speaker at a Disney Magic Music Morning. We thought it pretty cool to put a face with a familiar voice!

Yep - it's definitely Mary Thompson Hunt:

You may also remember seeing her in the original preshow to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Play It! at MGM.

I'm just asking because I've heard the voice so much over the years that I really associate it with Epcot and am curious who it is and wonder what you're basing you're response on.

Thanks for answering the question. I checked out her Web site, which has sound clips of her work, and indeed, that's the voice I'm talking about.
