Does anyone here HATE dishwashers like I do?

I think you need a new one. Our dishes are never wet coming out of the dishwasher. They are incredibly hot, but never wet.

There have been occasions, though, where stuff did sit and you are right, even cream cheese turns to cement.

We usually wash off our dishes first, just habit. But there are food items that will become rock hard after sitting out for a little. The dishwasher is not going to get that off in one cycle. My brother also likes to put forks in the dishwasher with food stuck in the tongs. How gross. At times, I want to give him plastic plates and utensils because he obviously has no idea how to use real ones.

I agree, time for a new one! Ours come out dry, and the storage containers come out and re-arrange, and the racks fold down so we can accommodate our load. And spotless glasses! I also think the little gel pacs work better than any other detergent I've tried. Those plus jet-dry work quite well. We have a Frigidaire professional. I don't remember the cost, but don't buy a cheap one! We burned through 2 cheap ones in 7 years before deciding to get a pricey one, and it's paid off so far.
