Does anyone have too many points?

We are adding on at SSR. I'm thinking about 200 more points to go with our 250 VWL points, but I'm not sure that is enough. I know the break point is different for everyone, but can you ever have too many points?

I have never felt like we had too many points and we have 600 total. Now I just purchased 150 of those so it would be wrong to say I have experienced having that many.
We have found the cruise line and anu number of concierge collection possibilities will eat them right up.

I doubt it is possible to have too many points! I want enough to spend the better part of January and February in a two bedroom at OKW every winter! It wont happen, but I can dream!

Too many points? Must be some kind of a sickness or addiction. In the process of another add on (#11) seems like the points are never enough.

All of us being members to a WDW discussion forum and DVC owners clearly demonstrate we've got a certain DVC madness, and no amount of points can cure.

My alter-ego, however, says that although vacations are all well and good, they should be carefully budgeted along side of retirement, education cost, etc... Be practical, and buy what you can afford, both monitarily and time-wise.

Can you have too many points? Yes. What happens? You become a renter or a seller.

Ditto the above by SimbaNoodle..............

We have 600 pts and use all of them. Luckily all we have is the dues payment. Down the road when we retire in 4 years if we want to go cruising more often, and don't want to go through the hassle of renting our pts and paying cash, thats what we may use the pts for if we feel like it.
We also know if down the road,we are 47+46 now, if we are not here or unable to use them........our 2 kids 29+17 will have 300 pts each.
Life is to short to save all your money...........enjoy everyday to its fullest.Our kids already have great memories with us at WDW through DVC........and just think how many more they will have during the next 38 years.

I couldn't agree with you more. My memories that I get each year with my kids are priceless. I started bringing them before they were two. Seven years later, they love it more each year.

I always feel, I have too many points, when I get my bill for annual dues.
I never feel, I have too many points, when I am at WDW DVC resort and using those points

Anyone who makes a business of selling DVC points will tell you that there are never enough points, but I think that most people know what they will use and will add-on accordingly.

If you are thinking you may need more than 250, then plan out some dream vacations and figure how many points you would need to do those trips. That should help you decide how much is enough.

Well we are one of the Top 20... having 1000 points and we are borrowed out completely, all for personal use!

Right now, we dont have enough points, but in another 10-15 years we may have too many.... If we find that to be true, we will sell one (or more) of our 5 contracts. We wont be adding on, since we feel we are capped out on yearly dues. (Of course we said that before our last add on too.... lol)

But we have chosen WDW as our main destation spot for the next dozen years.... You cant beat the pools, the staff, the cleanliness, the location, and most imporantly... the 2 bedroom villas.

We just got back from our first *no park* trip and it was wonderful. We now feel WDW is the place to go and hang out, as well as hitting the parks, seeing the sites, and everything else.

Ahhh yes..... just a few more points maybe.... LOL

I have 400 and it seems like I have only 10 points.Im still short on points when it comes to the cruise with five family members.I have been to meatings and people have raised there hand when asked who has more then 500 points and they said 900 points when asked how many.now that might be enough but then no way jose.
