Does a 3 year old really need a ticket?

You should avoid asking these types of questions on these boards because you will only get flamed. If I were you, put your kid in a stroller and wheel them on it. If they recently turned 3 I doubt anyone is going to ask their age. I have been through those gates at least 50 times and never have seen anyone asked. Disney is going to make a mint off your kid as they nag you all day for the overpriced ballons, ice creams, toys, pins, bottles of water, etc.. If they do happen to find out somehow then just buy a ticket.

Before anyone wants to comment on what I just said, I don't care and frankly won't be back to revisit the responses. It cracks me up to read all of the "ohhhh, how could you rip off Disney?" comments when the same people probably would not hesitate to cheat on their taxes. Oh you don't do that you say? How about did you ever pay someone in cash to avoid paying the taxes? Or maybe buying something over the internet or in another state and not paying your states sales tax? Did you ever work a job in your life and get a tip - I'll bet you made sure that was declared. How about overstating your charitable deductions?

You know what they say about glass houses but then again, I'm sure everyone that posted comments never did any of the above, or cheated on a test in school or told a lie........................

Indeed they can... by raising the cost of tickets for the rest of us who do pay.

they raise the cost to satisy shareholders. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded, they make billions.

My advice is purchase them a ticket because this way you won't ever be questioned on her age. I mean what if you got a Cast Member who asked how old she really was and she said 3 years old, then it would look bad if you said she was really 2 years old. So just because no one else got questioned on how old their child was does not mean it won't happen to you.

spot on

My issue is not even with 'cheating' Disney because I'm sure they make plenty of money but why would you want to teach your child to lie? There is no amount of money worth that IMO. When your children start lying to you I hope you don't punish them seeing as how you taught them to do it.

My 14,13, and 8 year ols may pass for 3 year old triplets...... I can only hope...:confused3

WOW - now it is even more apparent to me the flames that errupt from this type of post. You see - I have never done ANY of the things you mention (at least not knowingly or intentionaly). So the fact that some people assume that 'everyone' has done this type of thing or similar activities makes it easier to see why getting a 3 year 1 day old child into the park for free is 'ok' to people. If they assume everyone does things like this then a WDW park ticket is peanuts.

Does it surprise me that people cheat and don't pay for their 3 year old? Not at all. I fully know that people exist who cheat on both their taxes and buying park tickets. Does it annoy me that they come onto the DISboards asking for 'permission' to do so just to alleviate their guilt (well, I'm guessing they're guilty or why wouldn't they just do it without asking)? If you're going to do it - just do it. If you have an issue with breaking the rules - then don't.

:dogdance:
You go boy!!!!!

Spot on, it's called teaching morals and principles and doing the right thing. Some people lack these values.

and what exactly did I do to deserve being called a drama queen?

being dramatic over nothing by questioning someones entire set of moral and values just because they would consider passing a 3yr old off as a 2 yr old to save some money. A gross over dramatisation.

They havent asked for permission or any of those things. They are trying to see if people will think they will get away with it.

People dont lack these values. They just dont make a drama over a 3 year old getting in somewhere free. If you want to brand these people as immoral as if they are rapists, murderers and armed robbers then so be it but I will carry on laughing at your unbelievably disproportionate pompous responses.

I take it you are another one of these people who have never done a single thing slightly wrong aswell, or do your misdemeneurs not count.

who says they have to know about it.

What if the CM asks? Then what? A 3 year old of normal development will probably know that they are 3 and answer honestly. Do you tell them to lie ahead of time? Children are a lot more receptive than you would think, they would wonder why their parent just said they are 2 when they know they are not.

If the OP can afford AP's for the whole family and to go to Disney then she should be able to afford to buy a ticket for her child.

How is theft moral????

theft is theft. Nothing dramatic about it. Teaching children to steal and lie is very low. I think everyone who supports this should get points or banned.
