Doctor Who Season 4!!!

Unoffical poll since we have to wait a little longer for "Midnight"

Favorite Companions from both Old and New Who

Old series: Teegan (sp?), Nyssa, Turlough and Adric (Peter's years of course :goodvibes )
New Series: Rose and Martha. I'm just starting to like Donna. Ooh, does Jack count?

I just started watching Doctor Who this season (saw that spaceship Titanic episode and was intrigued enough to stop clicking the remote). I really need to rent the previous seasons (just the recent ones, if I rented all the dr. who seasons I would probably have to be in front of the tv for the rest of my life).

I really like Donna, even though I have no other companions to compare her to, I think she is strong but very sympathetic to others. Everybody keeps talking about this Rose, and I have no idea who she is so I feel really left out.

I am amazed I never discovered this show before, it is fantastic. The Doctor is hot, and a really good actor. I love Donna. I really like the richness of the galaxy, and how many different episode premises they have to choose from (earth in the past, earth now, any different number of planets in space).

Anyway, just wanted to check in.

Rose was the first New Who companion (played by Billie Piper) and I think Jack counts as a Companion!

But I do think Ianto would be fun as a short term Companion :)

This Season has been SO great!!!

I think my favorite classic companion is Sarah Jane Smith, and I liked Harry a lot too.
new companion would have to go to Rose, with Martha and Donna coming in a close second and third. (;) what can I say... I love them all!)

I had to check the spelling, but my favorite companion from the old series is Tegan Jovanka (although Sarah Jane is a very close second). In fact, I nearly named my daughter Tegan, but I didn't want to have to explain who she was named after. When I told her that she was almost a Tegan, she said that she would have loved that name. What did we end up naming our daughter?

Sarah. Go figure. And my wife's maiden name is Smith. I nearly did end up naming my daughter for a fictional character.

Just watched a few Rose epsiodes and her mom is a total riot!

cybrkitn: Jack is a total looker!

I didn't like Martha when she got all moon-y over the Doctor. She started out so strong but towards the end of her run as a Companion, she just seems to sit around simpering and sighing over The Dr.

Donna Noble is interesting to me precisely because she hasn't fallen for the Dr. and I sure as heck hope she NEVER does.
Let them be good friends, isn't that enough?

agnes!

This has been a great season so far!!
Only three more episodes left :sad2:
Midnight was very cool. I didn't know if I would like it or not, but it has us glued to the screen. I can't wait to see it full lenght w/o commercials!!

So It looks like the final episode on August 1st will be an hour and a half:cool1: :cool1: I'm so glad. They cut out SO much of the last of the time lords to fit it into one hour, Journey's end has a 65 minute run time.

I can't wait until Friday!
I hear that we can expect a lot of familiar faces in the final two episodes!!

I LOVED "Midnight"! It's definitely the scariest Doctor-related episode ever; "42" came close, but not quite. ("Blink" was the scariest DW episode, but it was Doctor-lite so I don't count it in that count.)

The next 3 weeks will be freakin' awesome. I'm going in spoiler free, and let me tell you... from the preview I saw after last week's episode... I'm scared.

Just saw "Turn Left". Was a little thrown by the inconsistencies in timelines, but that's not the point.

Spoilerificness------

Okay, so when Rose said to Donna "Tell him this, two words." I shouted "BAD WOLF. Oh, PLEASE let it be Bad Wolf." I am completely geeked about the upcoming final episodes. I'm having my DH download the BBC versions for us so thta we can see them without any annoying US cuts.

Torchwood and SJA plus the Doctor all in one place!

Who thinks Donna will slap Jack?

How will Ianto and Gwen take to the Doctor given what happened during Exit Wounds?

Yeah I watched the BBC episodes and I liked them a lot more. For example, Midnight, I think commercials would have taken away a lot of the suspense and the building terror of the episode. I also just couldn't stand not seeing the finale when I knew it was already aired in Britain.

"The Stolen Earth"

Watched it a bit early because DH and I won't be able to watch any Who tomorrow evening.

My goodness. Best opening sequence ever. We laughed so hard so many times during this episode. Definitely the best of the year so far. You guys are in for a total treat.

-----spoilers to follow-------------

Torchwood. Sarah Jane Smith and Luke. Martha Jones. Harriet Jones. Daleks. And oh yeah, the returm of a Dr. Who classic villan I've only ever read about. Best scenes-

1. Sarah Jane: Mr. Smith, I need you....just stop with the fanfare and tell me what's going on!

2. Harriet Jones: Harriet Jones, former prime minister.
Jack/Martha/Daleks: Yes, I/we know who you are.

3. Jack realizing that the Daleks are coming and, when Gwen asks him what they need to do, he just embraces both her and Ianto and kisses each of them tenderly on the forehead, because there's nothing he can do to save them.

4. Donna: It's like an outer space facebook.
Doctor: Everyone except Rose.

Arrrggghhh!!!!!! Cannot wait for the finale.

WOW!! what a cliff hanger!!!

Did anyone else hear the "sound of drums" Master beat a couple of times during the episode?

I can't wait until next week!!!

:worship: What an amazing show!!

I can't wait for the DVD's.... Any word on when they are coming out?

This patient is in need of a Doctor

I thought I heard the drums too!!!!
When the Doctor regenerates who will he be? Any UKers out there? Anyone know?

Jack: Who's the kid?

That cracked me up and well I kinda wanted him to hit on Donna or Sarah Jane to lighten things up.

As far as regeneration....I know!!! Were the previews "the past"? Who is the new doctor? I am going to miss this doctor.

Just got through watching "Turn Left" and "The Stolen Earth" and I too can hardly wait to see the season finale. The combination of all the various aspects of the Who-niverse makes these my favorite episodes of the new Doctor Who series.
