Doctor Who Season 4!!!

Gwen actually did smile! Poor Torchwood *huggles Gwen and Ianto* since this had to be so soon post "Exit Wounds" and Jack did crack me up. Maybe next week he'll hit on Sarah Jane,Donna (I think she through he was cute at least) and maybe even Jackie!

My brother and his fiancee have not seen season 2 of Torchwood yet, so they were like... Where is Tosh... Where is Owen...
We tried to ignore them... :confused3

I loved it when the Daleks replied that they knew who Harriet Jones was.
Too funny!:rotfl:

Of course leave it to Luke to have one of the best ideas! Jack's reaction cracked me up and of course Ianto being Ianto.

I got a little choked up when Rose and the Doctor saw each other for the first time and started running towards each other. (stupid Dalek... Ruining the moment... How Rude!)

Its cruel to make us wait a week until the 2nd half.

I was surprised that the Doctor got it. I thought for sure it would be Rose when I saw them running towards each other.

Me too, especially after what Dalek Caan said about everlasting death for the most faithful companion. I never expected The Doctor to be the victim. I mean... you just never even consider that such a thing could happen! :sad2:

DS6 picks out a book from the library called Animalia by Graeme Base. The book is a cross between Where's Waldo, hidden pictures and tongue twisters from A-Z. It was pretty fun to read with him and find all the hidden pictures for the particular letter we were on.

When we got to the letter "D", we found a bunch of hidden pictures all starting with that letter. I was very  when I found.....a Dalek and the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) in the picture! That got me on a trek to see if there were anymore Doctor Who related hidden pictures in this children's book  So far no luck.

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread..........

ACK! I absolutely HATE, hate HATE "Journey's END"! The first hour was great, some of the best DW series stuff I've ever seen, almost as good as "Blink"(which is on my personal list of five top TV show episodes EVER), but that ending?.....IMO, the WORST season/series finale since "Star Trek:Enterprise". I usually love Russell T. Davies, but this episode...ugh. Too many ughs to even list here.

VERY disappointing on so many levels. A hurling smiley might tell you how I really feel.
agnes!

It was great and yet disappointing, I agree.

"Blink" completely freaked me out the first time I saw it, great tv even though the Doctor was barely in it.

The look on Gwen's face was priceless! I also think Donna would have totally gone after Jack (that did make me smile)

Was it 2 hours? I missed the first part.:headache: It is coming on again and I hope to piece it together.:confused3

The season-finale (Journey's End) showing in Sci-Fi channel was 1.5 hours. Actually, I think it was 60+ minutes long, so it was at least an hour of actual show and 20-some minutes of commercials. At least Sci-Fi didn't do their usual hack editing job and hack off enough of the episode to make it fit into the usual one hour.

I STILL hate it, but will refrain from any spoilers for a bit.
agnes!
PS - Have I told you how MUCH I hate it :scared: ?

Rose is in a new series called Secret diary of a call girl which is proving successful so I doubt she will be back. DH and I were going to watch the 1st episode tonight on youtube but couldn't decide if it would be disturbing. ;)

I despise what was done in this episode to the characters of Rose and Donna. IMO the final 10 or 15 minutes diminished both characters' worth. That they'd both be happy/satisified with where/how they ended up? :lmao:

I think I'm liking "Torchwood" better these days. But it's just a TV show :teeth:, nothing real to get worked up about. I guess.

Did anyone else smile at them linking Gwen and her actress guesting during 9's run?

Yeah, it was a nice touch. But (grumble, grumble) IMO it doesn't make up for how they broke the faith in this last episode. I do think the first hour or so (as aired on the SciFi Channel) was great - full of nice touches, little homages to other seasons, other episodes, other shows.

Sometimes I think series' writers get bored with characters or start to almost hate them. Maybe they run out of steam? Totally different series, but what the Dr. Who Powers-That-Be have done reminds me of what happened to Andy Sipowicz on "NYPD Blue". That show turned into the "Let's Torture Andy Show". Every sweeps season, towards the end...Let's Have Andy's Partner Go Missing(Rick Schroder), Let's Kill off Andy's Partners (Jimmy Smits, Rick Schroder), Let's Kill Off Andy's family (2nd wife Sylvia, oldest son), Let's Have Him marry a third time & THEN let's have his brother-in-law kill his wife's sister!... Fun times, eh? It became less about the characters, more about what new disaster was coming down the pike for "Andy".

I'm kind of curious & have refrained from posting any spoilers, but are any of the posters on this thread happy about "Journey's End", did it make sense to you what happened to Rose & Donna? (I actually didn't mind what happened to Harriet Jones, that made sense within the already-established confines of the series.) Would you put this episode in your personal Doctor Who Top Ten (or 20 or whatever) episodes?

agnes!

I would have loved some aftermath bits, especially for Jack and his team along with Sarah Jane and Luke.

Poor DoctorDonna :headache: She deserved so much better. I wonder if something will happen that she will remember and the doctor will have to come swooping in to save the day......Do you think that is what they are leading too down the road?

I guess in the end Rose got her "Doctor" but wil she be satisfied with a Doctor who is half human made from a hand. Isn't it the whole Time Lord/ Tardis/ Save the World/ Unattainable thing that makes him so darn sexy and desireable in the first place?

I thought that would have been a better end to the Rose chracter. She is in love with a chopped off hand! Creepy.
