Doug Clark, who with his band the Hot Nuts created risque rock 'n' roll for 47 years, passed away in a Chapel Hill, North Carolina hospital Monday (September 16), after an extended illness. He was 66. "Their songs included subjects that in those days were taboo," said Cal Horton, town manager of Chapel Hill. "They sang about sex. Of course now, all of it looks very mild, in retrospect." Clark's best-known song (though the group never made the Billboard Hot 100) was "Baby Let Me Bang Your Box."

His admirers describe him as an ambassador for Chapel Hill, as a humble musician who represented his hometown well.

I think no one would be shocked by it.

Seen any Britney Spears song titles lately?

Actually, I try not pay any attention to Britney Spears, or her music. Care to clue me in? I am familiar with that hit me baby one more time, and that slave song but that's about it!

I think someone around here who has sex on the brain would like all of it just fine. ;)

Hmmm... Now I got The Who's Squeeze Box playing in my head!

[I'm sorry I don't know how to insert those music links. :(]

brit's song titles aren't THAT bad. her worst is "i'm a slave 4 u" but her others aren't nearly as suggestive.

I was listening to a song today, Jackson Browne's "Cocaine", and wondering if this song would be allowed to be played on the radio if it were recorded this day in age. Its a great song, but it sort of glorifies cocaine. :( Something tells me the PC crowd would be rather upset by its lyrics today, no one blinked an eye back in the 70's when it was originally recorded.

I think the song you referenced would probably be a hit nowdays, Blondie. Sex sells in the year 2002. :)

Don't know why I know this, but I believe in the blues idiom a box is a piano and "banging" refers to playing it with great gusto.

LOL!!!!
The Who's Squeeze Box
I haven't heard that song in a long long time.....

How about some of the old Meatloaf songs?????

Paradise By The Dashboard Light........ ;) ;) ;)

No doubt about what that ones about!!!!!
