We are going to Halloween Horror Nites @ Universal- do u think this will
make us scared :scared: and take away our Disney mood?? (from being scared, seeing gross things, etc.) ???

I guess it depends on how well you like that kind of stuff. My family wouldn't want to go. Even my 15yo tells me every time he sees a commercial for it.

I can't imagine it would mess the whole trip up, though. Do you really want to go? It might be fun.

We would have loved to have had time to have gone to both parties, but could only fit in one. We did the WDW party, but would have also enjoyed HHN. Go and have a great time!

T&B

wonder if we can get a disney group together to walk thru as a group!!!

that would be less scary!:hyper:

I thought about HHN last year at this time, but decided against it. Not only does it look hella-scary (even for this horror movie fan), but Universal was such a let down for me that I didn't want to waste any more Disney time on it.

If you go, please let us know how it is!

Will it make you scared? Absolutely. We went last year, and I did my best to keep up the "brave face", but was quite scared several times.

Will it ruin your vacation mood? I doubt it. The next day, I was telling people about it and realized I was telling "fun scary" stories, not "terrible scary" stories. I was considering going again this year, and if it weren't for financial considerations, I would do it again.

If you do go, don't miss the Bill and Ted show. It is completely worth your time, and possibly one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

One thing to consider... it's a late-night event, and to see most of it -- I don't know if you can see it all in one night due to the crowds -- you will be out very late. If you are going to feel like you missed out on something at Disney because you weren't able to be up early in the morning bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, it probably isn't a good investment of your time.

Do you think it will make you scared? no, you will be terrified before its over :p

If you can handle gross murder scenes, blood, guts and gore and being chased by monsters in the dark, then go, but if your afraid of these things, then do yourself a favor and avoid it. ::yes::

Bill and Teds show is very sexually suggestive and raunchy. I think it should definitly be rated R (just so you will know)
it used to be a good show, but has just gotten plain perverted over the years. but hey, if you don't mind that kind of stuff, then enjoy! :wave2:

I am scared :scared: to go now! I don't like to be scared and can't even
SEE a COMMERCIAL for a scary movie-

already bought tickets and DH wants to go and we'll be there already that day.

what to do?
also, where does it open? ioa or us?

I am a big fat baby and wouldn't go the last time we went to WDW. My 12 yo (at the time) dsd did go with some friends of ours and it scared the bejeebers out of all of them. A previous poster mentioned blood, guts and gore. Yep all of that and people chasing after you. We were told the next day (we spend one day at IOA because we love those coasters!) by someone that worked there that the people out, dressed up chasing you (with chain saws no less) are not allowed to touch the guests, and if they do, even by accident, they can be fired. Not that it made things less scary, but it was good to know. If you like that kind of stuff it won't ruin your trip. At the time the kids were scared. On this trip back my dsd wants to go again. Unfortunately for her no one in this group will take her! I don't even want to think about that cornfield! We're all big chickens. Give me Cinderella any day!

Have fun!

I love Halloween, so it sounds great to me.

I highly doubt it will ruin your Disney mood.

We are going to MNSSHP and HHN-really looking forward to both. I am a bit scared of the cornfield though. Oh, and clowns-I hope there are no crazy clowns.:scared1:

In my opinion, Horror Nights is not for young children. Much of it has a more "adult" theme.

As Mettalicat said, the Bill and Ted show is somewhat suggestive.

Last year, there was a boy, maybe 10 or 12 that went through the jungle-themed house ahead of me. It was a pretty scary deal, but the kid seemed to handle it pretty well. We came around the corner and standing on a raised "stage" was a VERY scantly dressed girl who was pretty well endowed, dancing in the "jungle". Of course, they use that as a distraction for something to jump out behind you but it was still more skin than I would have shown a child.

When we came out, the boy's father or otherwise older chapperone was waiting. The boy was sure to tell him about the "naked lady". The man was sceptical and looked a bit worried. My group stopped and explained what he was rerferring to. She was not naked, of course, but close to it. The man looked a LITTLE less worried.

I was entirely impressed with Horror Nights last year. Universal really goes all out. The detail is frighteningly real.

We will be there on 10/29 this year. We couldn't do it on the 31st this time.

Ted

We have tickets for both and can't wait to do 2 halloween parties that are complete opposites.

I went to HHN back in 1999, and thought I was gonna "crap" myself. I am so glad that this was my first trip and didn't bring my daughter. There were people jumping out everywhere, and there was alot of fog. I really wouldn't recommend bringing young kids to this...unless you like staying up all night because of the nightmares.....but hey this is just MHO.

Disney & HHN are opposites.
Disney celebrates cute little ghosts and chubby little pumpkins and all the fun of trick or treating and dressing up.
HHN is an adult Halloween experience. (Although you do see a fair amount of kids there). It is MEANT to scare you. You will see people drinking alcohol, couples getting a little too close (if you know what I mean), and very extensive gory themes.

Yes, you will be scared, but no, I don't think that will spoil your Disney time.

I went to HHN two years ago. I am the biggest scardey cat going (I can't ride Dinosaur without closing my eyes and covering my ears). HHN did not scare me. I thought it was lame. All the houses seemed the same. The guys with the fake chainsaws chasing you around was not exciting. Maybe it was an off year, but really I was not impressed. The thing that scared me the most was when one of the guys we were with grabbed my ankle in one of the houses. I almost killed him. DH thought it very funny. Anyway, it's something you should try, but you may not have the reaction you think you will. Also, as another poster pointed out, there will be lots of drunks and make-out couples.
:crazy2:

I think I would rather go to MNSSHP (which I haven't done yet).

*******WARNING SPOILER*******

last year was my first year to go to HHN. It didnt really scare me because i watched the HHN special on the travel chanel before we went. they give away all the secrets and tell you almost exactly what to expect. ( really wish i hadnt watched it :( ) also, if you watch the people in front of you, you can see where all of the scareactors are ( they say something to almost everyone ) if something goes BANG, then look in the opposite direction because thats were they are going to scare you !

Also, if you just smile and tell the scare actors hello it takes all the fun out of it for them and they leave you alone. however, if you scream and run they are going to chase after you:crazy:

you should go as long as you arent taking little kids ( under 13 )
