Do you think a bony chest (ribs showing above breast) is attractive on a woman?

I want to know both from men and women if they find a bony chest attractive (not counting a collar bone, but the upper rib cage - example: think of ballerinas and Laura Flynn Boyle, Debra Messing, etc...) close family member of mine thinks it looks very attrative and I beg to differ. Of course, I know there are naturally very thin/frail looking people out there, but would you drop so much weight to actually have a bony chest?

Any comments welcome.

no not attractive
I was starting to get that way before the holidays

I think you have to have no chest to have a bony one, if you catch my drift. :smooth:

Hrmmm.... SSB can't quite picture this, but think the answer is no... but really need to see an example.

(SSB can be very difficult) haha!

I like stuff covering the bones

DD

You can see my collar bone, and in certain angles an outline of my ribs, if that's what you mean. It's not glaring. I'm not underweight, and I have a nice chest...at least i've never had any complaints!! :earboy2:

So no, I don't think it looks bad on me.

ROTFLMAO and snorting wildly :earboy2:

No. Kelly Ripa's chest is very bony, and I don't think it is attractive.

That's what SSB was trying to figure out.... methinks collar bones good, but was not certain of else.

No, I don't think it's attractive.

People with that trait look emaciated to me. I'm sure some can't do a thing about it, but I think that others just need to eat a bit more.

When I was going through my divorce and lost a lot of weight, that happened to me. I thought I looked very drawn and sickly.

DH and I were watching Will & Grace the other day and I commented how pretty Debra Messing is. DH said "ewwwww, she has a bony chest!" LOL! Never noticed before.

Can't say I like it in a man myself. :p

i agree. if the op is talking about collar bones, i think they are attractive (unles sthe person in question is so emaciated that they REALLY stick out). i do not think ribs sticking out are attractive though.

I'm not the OP, but I think she might be trying to say below the collar bone, the actual bones in the chest below the neck. In some very thin women, those bones are very pronounced. I didn't really notice it in Debra Messing until DH pointed it out.

No, and certainly not if it's on purpose.

No, for either gender, and ick.

eta: okay, I think I misunderstood...I was picturing being able to see someone's rib cage...a few years ago I saw a girl who was wearing a bikini top and you could clearly count all her ribs from a considerable distance. It was awful. The bones at the top of the chest, however, are fine.

Well, being a woman who is um..blessed... with no rib bone exposure, I spent the majority of my younger years wishing the bones were apparent. I'm learning quite a bit from guys like SSB in my old age....

I never knew there were rib bones above the chest...but I only go for the skinny, athletic women :D

So yes, to an extent.

Me either.

My collar bones show. I like how it looks. DH has never complained. I have 5 pounds that fluctuate. When those 5 pounds are missing you can see a little of my rib outline, but nothing terrible. I am not underweight by any means.

At least God makes us all different so we find people we are attracted to.

By bones showing I think of Lara Flynn Boyle...and she looks sickly. so no in that situation. But if it's just collar bones then no...that looks fine.
