Do you take meds/supplements every day? Great website.

This is my PSA du jour. :)

www.mymedschedule.com

I'm terrible about remembering to take my pills, and I take several supplements too. I've been doing pretty good since the New Year (one of my annual New Year's Resolutions  ) taking them every day, but not necessarily at the same time each day, and this website has helped greatly. I have it set to email me AND text reminders. You can also print out a nice schedule of your meds to bring to your doctor. And I have a nice tidy list to give to the medical staff at mom's assisted living. :thumbsup2

You can put emergency contact information on it. What I also did was where it list "allergies", I put "none", but added on the same line the doctor's name and phone number because there's no where else for it.

Limitations...the website claims you can make schedules for other people, but I don't see how without setting up a different account, with a different email address. When you put in your personal information, it shows up on whatever schedule you print out, even if you've named the schedule something else (as in "my mother's name")...it still puts my name/my DOB/etc. :confused3 So I do have separate accounts for DH, mom and me. (Unless I just haven't figured out how to do it all in one account. :confused3)

Thanks for the PSA:) Here's my system: I get all the meds I'm supposed to take out of the medicine cabinet and put the bottles on the counter by the bathroom sink. I can't put the bottles away until I've taken the pill from that bottle. When the counter is clear, I'm done for the day.:)

That wouldn't work for me. I don't like the bottles on the counter (I've got some of those supersized bottles from BJs) and I'd never remember how many times in the day I've taken them. Some people are just better at keeping track than others...DH takes two meds and a vitamin, all at night. And always remembers. No problem. I still made him a nice chart. :)

I like this list and the emails/texts. Sometimes I just lose track of time in my day. I've gotten an email from them and thought "it's 11 AM already?".

You can print out a wallet sized chart. When you get to be my age (50s :headache:), you start to think about landing in the hospital and having that kind of information on hand!

And I handle my 87 year old mom's meds and she takes a few. All day. It's an excellent chart for me to use to use to put her meds in her tray. She takes them on her own, but I also need to leave a current list with the medical staff there.

I've had a lot of contact with that website's company in the last couple of days, discussing improvements to their site. It's a great tool as it is, but their coming improvements will be great too.

What can I say...I'm excited about it. My age is showing. And if I don't take those two Move Free pills every day, my age shows in my aching creaky knees too.

My wife has a box that manages an entire month's meds at a time, by day. She only has to refill the box once per month... :thumbsup2

I have a weekly tray with removable daily boxes to take with me. Actually, 3 weekly trays, so I do 3 weeks at a time. But I put them in there by a chart. And this chart is great, so I just wanted to pass along the information in case someone feels they could use it. :)

And meds can be in the tray, but you (I) might still forget to take them. That's why I like the emails/texts. (Mom's day in assisted living revolves around meals and meds...she doesn't need reminders. ;))

And like I said...the chart is portable. When my father was very ill, we had a list of meds on the fridge, right next to the door, in case of emergency, and it did come in handy when he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. This chart is just another, more organized, way of doing the same thing.

I just wanted to share this information, because I think some people might find it helpful. :flower3: I'm sure there are a lot of people with their own systems that work fabulously for them, but maybe just for the moment, if they haven't thought about other scenarios (being taken to the hospital). Had I not had elderly parents, or taken supplements in addition to the few meds, I may not feel the need for or like this website as much. But...I do. :)
