Do you plan around point calendars?

Since we homeschool, we can go just about any time of year. So, we avoid the high point / high crowd times like the plague. We have grown to like the early Fall.

As for the weekends, I just try to be in a smaller unit and not have company at that time. I also maximize my weekdays by arriving on Sunday night and staying through to the following Wed. or Thurs.

When we originally bought, we thought we certainly would pay attention to the seasons, so as to get the most out of our points. However, it's just not realistic for us. We find that now that ALL of the kids have entered school, and are involved in extra-curricular activities, it's really tough to pay attention to the point charts. We love going at Spring Break and this year, we will be going at Spring Break and again over the Christmas/New Years holiday. So much for saving points, ha!

But like another poster said, in 12 years when all the kids are in college, we'll have plenty of time to pay attention to the charts.

:) Sounds like most do things about the same as I do. There was a comment by someone (not a DVC member) about it not being flexible because of the point charts but flexibility is one of the things I like best.

We are looking forward to the years when we don't have kids in school to worry about and can take advantage of the off-season but for now we just make the best of it.
