Do you picture what a certain dISer looks like

and then have them look just like that? Or completely different???


I know there have been some big suprises. Where I have thought someone was short and they were very tall (MSKanga) or that the person definitely had black hair and had blonde...


Do you make mental images of the people here? Are you usually pleasantly suprised when you do meet them???

I have met a few who I would have recognized right away....

Funny you ask. MamaJoan sent me a pic of her and her husand. It is exactly how I had her pictured.

But then again I think me and Joan knew each other in another life.

Also, this is kinda weird. When DW was prego with Seth, she had an ultrasound done. I knew by the ultrasound what Seth would look like when he was born. The picture I had in my mind was to the T as to what he looked like.

I haven't ever met a fellow DIS'er. I'm usually right about what I think a DIS'er looks like after they post their pic. There's 2-3 that I was TOTALLY wrong about though.

I kinda pictured you right, Glo. But I pictured you with longer hair for some reason.

Browneyes...well until about two years ago it was shoulder length, and about 8 years ago, it was down past my back end. So maybe you pictured me younger....but then if you did you had to have pictured me about 60 pounds heavier too.


I always thought of you as very tall, with borwn hair and eyes..I was off kind of.

I haven't met a DISer in person yet either-maybe someday Glo-you look exactly like I pictured you! Though I have yet to meet you, you always come across as someone who is warm, funny, family oriented, smart, and strong. Not sure if this makes sense, but that's how you appear in your picture

I am pretty sure I know what Dan Murphy looks like.. even though I have never met him in person! LOL!

To answer the question... yes, I definitely form a mental picture of what each person is like. Right or wrong... that's how I see them in my minds eye. Should be a hoot at DIS CON meeting so many of these folks in real life. We'll see then how close my mental image was to reality.

LOL! I'm not much taller than you, Glo. I'm 5' 3 1/2" (don't forget that 1/2" ). I do have browneyes. And my hair is very strange. In a given day I'm usually called "the girl with brown hair", "the redhead", or "the blonde". My hair is moody. The pic I had in my siggy was an old pic, btw. My hair is in it's natural STRAIGHT state, and that pic was taken before I had kids.

LOL, Blondie. The most recent pic I have of me is one I had taken with my kids 5 days after I had my wisdom teeth taken out (it hurt to smile). I look like a red head in that pic.

Shannon - I saw the picture of you in your signature and I saw the picture of you and your two beautiful children in another thread, otherwise I would have pictured you as Ariel.

I met quite a few Disers last month at the Novi, MI meet & they looked like I had pictured them for the most part. I met jldriscoll for coffee one morning and she had described herself to me before so we would recognize each other so I knew what to expect her to look like. I do get mental pictures of the people in my head though.

Maggie, my hair is still straight like in the pic with my kids I posted (my hair looked brown in that pic). It's a lot longer though. I do have some Ariel tendenies (I'd love to live in water ), but I'd never be mistaken for her. I liked the pic you had posted for you, too. You reminded me of Kristy McNichol. I always thought she was pretty.
