Hi everyone,

We are really hoping to purchase a contract REAL SOON :), this month I hope.

Do we need a lawyer to look over the contract or are they easy to understand and we just sign on the dotted line?
Thanks for any help
dd

If you buy through DVC, you just sign at the palm trees! :earboy2:

It's not overly complicated. I read through it and understood it. I guess it never hurts to have a legal opinion, though.

Not if you are buying from Disney. From a private resale...maybe.

This is a resale contract. Wouldn't the contract be the same as Disney's just in case they do FROR.

If you're buying resale, you are depending on title insurance or something like that to be sure that you are buying something that is free and clear, able to be bought.

We didn't use a lawyer for our resales, or for our direct purchases from Disney.

If you are buying through a realtor, especially one know for DVC (TTS, etc.), I would think you'd be ok. I think I might have someone review if I went private sale, though.

Title insurance for DVC doesn't really add anything. One can check the ownership and get the seller to have DVC document that all is clear and no loans outstanding on it or if so, what the balance is. So as long as you do this and have all on the old deed sign it you're in good shape.
