Do you live near a beach?

I am close to "daughter of amid chaos"....What a beautiful island it is too!

I live on a lake and the ocean is about a 5 min. drive away...they are nice now, (a little cold), and very crowded in the summer!

Shannon, I keep telling you to make your way west!:p I live about 30 minutes from the beach. From LOTS of beaches. Gotta love California!:teeth:

I think the closest beach to me is Point Pleasant, which is a little less than an hour away. I prefer to go to South Jersey though, which is about 2 and a half hours. But I don't mind going somewhere like Seaside for a day trip, it's only a little over an hour drive.

I really need to, Susan.:) Do you think Timmy and Boo would get along?:teeth:

Yep 5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean 20 miles to the Carribean. Come visit anytime you'd like we have tons of room for guests!

I can see the beach from my front porch of my office. It's less than 1/2 a mile away...

but it is covered in 6 feet of snow right now...BRRRRR

If you want to visit in July it will be very nice.

no, but the beaches I have been to in Florida are only a memory away. I can be there in 2 seconds!

10 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico here! THough, our beach is not as nice as those Beautiful Florida beaches!!::yes::

About an hour or so from the beach; probably 80 minutes. Used to be 30 minutes from Santa Cruz when I lived in CA. Sigh......BUT it's supposed to be near 80 here all weekend, so I'm NOT complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beaches....11 of them....on beautiful Presque Isle Sate Park on Lake Erie...

just a hop skip and a jump away....

you're all invited...picnics, swimming, tanning, bike riding, fishing

We could go to the new pavillion at the Waterworks. There are ponds for kids to fish, a bike rental place if you need it,
a playground with slide and swings, picnic tables and grills, and , beach 7 is just across the street...

me and some Grandkids hang out there :D

Hey Alice28:

Don't go to the beach this weekend -- it's been invaded by WA school kids on Spring Break this week!!!

I'm only about 20-30minutes from the beach. We don't get there as often as we'd like but I like knowing I always have the option to go.

10 mins from Beautiful Lake Erie. It's a bit cold up on the lake though!

Thanks to the army corps of engineers we have a little beach about 15 minutes from my house. Of course the beach wasn't actually what the army was building, they created the lake it's on and I guess they just threw in the beach to please the locals or something, lol.
Anyway I love this little beach. It's never crowded, it doesn't cost much to go to and it's close enough that we often run there in the evenings in the summer for just an hour or at the most two and relax while Ashli gets in the water and swims and floats and does stupid tricks and nearly drowns herself. Ok, the nearly drowing part isn't so relaxing. Ashli loves to try to worry me so I usually try to play it cool before I finally break down and stand up to get a better view. Ashli knows she's 'won' when she comes up out of the water and I'm standing at the shore anxiously scanning the surface of the water for her.

:sunny:

I can walk to the beach from my house! I'm on the eastern side of the peninsula in Portland, Maine, and there is a boat launch and a public beach about 3 minutes walk down the hill from my place.

Of course, since it's Maine, for about 6 months out of the year, you really don't want that water splashin' on ya! LOL

:wave2:

Nope. But if all goes the way we are hoping we may be living near a beach when we move this summer. :)

::yes::My backyard, Beach!!!!!!!!!!disneykid

Sure thing Shannon.................the beach (swimming) is only 7 mins away.....but there is another beach (non swimming) about 5 mins away, so take your pick..........you are most welcome.:D
