Okay you can laugh a little :lmao:
Well, I was reading through some blogs today and one was entitled 'I hate Wal-Mart'. :sad2: Wal-Mart rocks my socks! You get pretty good quality, inexpensive things, familiar brands, and sometimes even an in-store McDonalds!

So my question is, do you like Wal-Mart? Can you tell me why or why not?
(With or without the McDonalds- Yes I know, most kids beg to go)

I love our Wal-Marts, but we have a Subway there. I'ts clean , the staff is friendly, and I can find what I'm looking for. I buy more clothes at Walmart than any other place. :goodvibes

:) So far:
4 Yes
2 No
4 It's okay
0 Yes, but I rarely shop there.

I like that they sometimes have sales that beat anybody else in the area.

It sucks the way they run the palce and the people that frequent the place drive me nuts in their rudeness.

Uh oh, another Walmart thread.

I don't like it at all, but I voted "It's okay" because we do shop there a couple times a month. The reasons I shop there are because the prices can't be beat, and because it's extremely convenient to be able to buy EVERYthing I could ever need in one trip, rather than having to go to several different stores.

I hate it because it's so huge that it takes at least an hour for a shopping trip. I hate it because a majority of the customers seem to lose all sense of humanity when they walk through those doors (at least the one nearest me). I hate it because it's Christmas rush busy, even on a week night. I hate their produce. I hate that they're nearly always sold out of my favorites whenever I shop there.

Prices are better, but I refuse to shop there for their treatment of workers, and also the place is always a pigsty (sp?).

I'd rather spend the extra dollar or two at Target.

Our Walmart is clean and orderly, but their employees are nasty. This Walmart is in an expensive part of town. The residents were totally against Walmart doing business there. Walmart had to do a lot of extra things, like landscaping, to minimize the view of the store from the road. The employees were nice and helpful when they first opened, but that's now changed.

The last time I was there, the cashier was clipping her fingernails at the register. Very classy look! I placed all my items on the belt/counter and had to wait for her to finish. That was the last straw for me! :sad2: Walmart is very close to me, but I'd rather shop at Publix or drive 15 minutes to Target. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I loathe Walmart and only shop there when it's after 10pm, because Publix and Target are closed. Even then, when I go in, it reminds me why I hate that place and refuse to give them $.01 of my money. And my Walmart is a new supercenter one, the older ones are worse!!!!

I could list 100,000 reasons why but you've probably heard them before.

As stated in an earlier post, by me, I have not one but 2 Walmarts going near me within a few miles. WM is Bombarding this area, why I have no idea, other than to "think" they are going to put Publix out of business. :confused3 Sure, the first few weeks will be slow at the surronding Publix's but, when the consumer realizes, that WM isn't as CLEAN and ODERLY as Publix, they don't have an organized staff, cashiers are Rude, they have empty shelves where products are A plenty at Publix, they will come back to us. :thumbsup2

Our Walmart is fairly new- but a very un-orderly store. Like PoohBear123 said on the previous post, most cashiers are rude. Not all- some actually say "Hi- How are you?" But with most of them, you can tell that they don't want to be there. You don't find as many rude cashiers at Target or Publix. :)

I don't shop there. I don't really shop at their competitors either though.

I will say the huge one in Orlando with the grocery store fascinates me though. We don't have stores like that here.

I like the prices.
The super walmart in Maine near my folks is awesome.
I can get groceries, back to school supplies and clothing in one stop.
There are two nearby at home. One is very clean and friendly staff. The other seems dirty and has mainly non english speaking, rude employees but if I really need stuff I will still go there.

I don't like wal mart it's always horribly crowded and dirty.

Target on the other hand is great. I haven't found that much of a difference in prices to make me want to shop at wal mart to save a few cents!

I like Wal-mart. I shop more frequently at Target because it is closer, but have been driving to Wal-mart more often now that we have a superstore with groceries.

Everyone is always pleasant at our Wal-mart. There's also no difference in clientel from the nearby Target that I can tell. I've been to many Wal-marts and the only one that I've found gross is the one in my parent's town.

I would love to see an actual comparison in wages etc. between Walmart and other retailers because I have yet to see any actual evidence that Walmart is worse. Retail isn't exactly known for being lucrative for the entry level positions.

O god do I HATE that store!!!!!!!! When it first opened I worshipped it! Back when they had good service and helpful people and normal lines. Now I hate that store... Oh I go there, I shop there every week... bit I complain all the was to, during and from!!!!!! :furious: The lines are plain ridiculous!!!!! The stock is bad and it is a freak show of sorts. But darn if I don't save a buck!

do I like WM? In a word - YES....do I hate their shoppers? same word YES! Well not hate the shoppers, but Wm here is so crazy....almost like the map reading, stop on MS, Disney goers!

No.

The area the Wal-Mart is in has attracted even more crime to that area.
The store and parking lot are a mess. The employees are rude. The quality reflects the price, i.e. you get what you pay for. There is a reason my DH refers to products there as "Wal-Mart fall a part." And honestly, I don't think the prices are all that great. Am I missing something? I'm pinching my pennies right now and still don't feel the need to step into that place to make my purchases. :confused3

Fortunately, I live in an area where Wal-Mart is not my only choice. My inlaws don't have that luxury unless they want to drive an hour away.

I'd rather go to Target, however it is further away. Kmart is the closest, but I don't like that store too much either...but I'll be there because of convenience factor.

Now, they recently built a new Wal-Mart. I haven't stepped foot into it yet. I hear it's nice, so I am wondering how long before it starts its descent...maybe it never will.

To those of you who enjoy Wal-Mart, keep on shopping! I don't understand this "Wal-Mart vs Target" debate that gets started. If you like the store, shop there. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. I see no reason to put down people who shop at one place versus the other.

We have a few wal-marts within a fairly close distance. One has a Subway and that store is probably the neatest and cleanest. Another has a McD's - that one is the super-wm. Third one was a regular wal-mart that is currently being remodeled into a super-wm. It used to have it's own generic snack-bar in it before the remodel. I'm interested in seeing what it'll have after. The other close one is a regular wm and has a McD's.

I like the one we stop at when we go to WDW because there is a Sonic in there.
