Actually, I hate Wal-Mart.

But, I'm compelled to shop there since I have no car and it's where my bus drops me off at when I'm going home from work.
No place else is near enough for me to buy the stuff I need to survive (meds, soap/shampoo, food, makeup, etc.).

I hate it because it's always very crowded with extremely rude people, the aisles are crowded with displays or things people just leave there, and dirty in most areas.
Also, whenever I go there for just one or two things, they never have them.

Plus, I really hate their business practices.

I shop at Wal-mart once in awhile...usually it is because they have something there that I can't get at Target. The closest wal-mart to me is somewhat neat, but, everything seems so cluttered there that it makes it hard to shop. Have you ever seen the clearance asile there? It makes me sick just to look down it. The next couple closest Wal-marts are disasters. The other thing I don't like about Wal-mart is all of the displays they have in the main asiles it makes shopping very difficult when the person in front of me stops to look and my cart can barley get around them.

I guess living in MN I bleed Target Red. I love Target and everything is presented very well there...it makes me want to buy the merchandise they sell. I also think Target has better selection of clothing and I like the way the electronics department is at Target. At wal-mart they made me pay for batteries in the electronics department because they were in the electronics department (we are talking C batteries here) that was very annoying(I could see if it was a tv, dvd, video game syster, etc, but batteries!!).

I also don't like that they don't have a fresh produce counter or meat counter like Publix. (or most grocery stores) Publix has a true butcher and all natural chicken and meats. They also have fresh fish, etc while my fish dept has all frozen/thawed stuff. I don't trust it.

Also, I try to feed my family healthy, and Walmart does not carry Kashi or Stonyfield Farms products, and in general I don't find them to have a good selection, they seem to really push their own brands. If you are looking for organic, don't waste your time.

Don't get me started on their labor/marketing/buying practices, they bully companies in terms of the pricing and whatnot. They are being forced into offering better health insurance in some states.

I'd rather shop somewhere I feel good about. And honestly, since I've moved all my shopping to Publix, my grocery bill has NOT gone up, I simply shop sales (BOGOS!!!!) and the quality of my produce and meats are much better. I also convinced my SIL to switch from Walmart to Publix and she says her bill has not gone up either. I know to stock up when my favorite items go BOGO and I save that way.

Don't get me started on the nasty freak-show that happens there after 11pm. And I'm usually SHOCKED at the number of very young children there too. The service is horrible and the staff is hardly presentable. I work in retail, and I know that Walmart must have standards (in regards to dress, etc) but it seems no one must follow it. Sloppy and dirty is how most of the employees are at mine, and I live in a very nice area of town and have a nearly new SuperWalmart.

UGG...LOATHE IT....

I DO NOT like Wal-mart, but I voted it's okay b/c I suspect that once we move to Florida I will be going there and sucking it up. The one up here that I went into a few months back was nasty and I am hoping in Florida it might be better, but I have my doubts.

I love SuperTarget and we have Meijer's here which I think is between Target and Wal-mart.

I will shop sales and stuff at regular grocery stores, but you can't be the regular prices on dry goods at SuperTarget and Walmarts so I might HAVE to go there....

I hate Walmart from their unfair labor practices to their anti union antics to it always being a third world country. I rarely go to the Superwalmart. We have a pricerite near us and their produce and fruit are second to none. I love Target. Clean no lines and nice cashiers

No, because the Walmart closest to my home is absolutely horrible. The place is filthy, the employees are useless and rude and it's just too aggravating to be there. ;)

Our Walmarts are crowded, dirty, and (I'm embarrassed to say such a thing) have people working there who aren't very nice and don't seem very smart. Our Target is clean, bright, has cool merchandise, and you hardly ever have to wait in long lines. They seem to only hire bright, friendly people.

I occasionally go to Walmart because it's nearby, and Target is across town. But they are in two completely different classes of stores.

If I was having a bad hair day or was too sick to take a shower, I'd head to Walmart, because I know I wouldn't see anybody I know--our Walmart is THAT seedy. :rotfl2: I know that's not true everywhere (I've been in some decent-looking Walmarts), but it's true in my town.

Add my vote for NO - I can't stand Walmart - the ones in the area are FILTHY, Scuzzy and not very nice to visit - the customers and the employees are rude.......There is a brand new one being built within walking distance of my house.....ARGH!!!

I really like Wal-Mart because I don't have to waste gas going place to place. I can get groceries, home items, and shoes all in the same spot :thumbsup2

I have a nice Wal-Mart near me with nice people working there. I have no problem with shopping there.

I have however been in a few of the nastier locations and I wouldn't shop at those.

I love walmart. Mine is always clean, stocked, and the workers are nice and happy. I enjoy being there.

I hate it. We used to shop there all the time, and still do occasionally shop there, because it's in the same plaza as the grocery store we go to, so we can get all the errands done in one place, but we shop at Target more now. Wal Mart used to be alright, but now that Target has come to town, it's just not. Wal Mart is SO dirty. The cashiers are rude, and quite frankly freak me out. They're just really creepy in the way they look and act. I can never find what I'm looking for there. Wal Mart and Target are both about the same distance from us, and the prices are within a dollar or two of each other (and often Target has a better deal). Target is clean. The employees are friendly. Things are organized, and they stock the stuff I'm looking for. Target is in the same plaza as BJ's, which we're at quite frequently, so it's really not any harder to go to Target than it is to go to Wal Mart. And soon they'll be tearing down the old Wal Mart and putting a new Wal Mart just minutes from Target. When that happens we're completely done with Wal Mart

I drive passed a Walmart and proceed for another 6 miles to Target. Now, I love Target over Walmart anyday.

I am yes, but I rarely shop there. I prefer shopping at Target.

They are building a new one by the Target, I think, so I will probably shop there more often.

I really like Walmart for a number of reasons.

We don't have many grocery options in our area .. and Walmart has much better prices overall than HEB the main grocery store in the San Antonio area.

I can usually find anything I need there grocery or otherwise - and once again prices are usually better - AND quality is the same as Target (other than clothes - ) But clothes are hit or miss at either to me - depending on who did the buying for this season. Sometimes Target just has weird stuff - but lately Walmart's been as bad... I like Kohls for clothes.

As to clean/dirty - I think it just depends on the manager. We have two Targets within 45 minutes of us - one is FILTHY - and the people are RUDE. The other is very clean and pleasant - and the people are just so/so friendly. Of the 2 Walmarts within 45 minutes - one is so/so on cleanliness and friendliness - but the OTHER.... Well to be honest it's like being at Disney.. and I'm not kidding. It's spotless and the people seem like they took their training straight from Disney... laugh. They are incredibly helpful and customer service oriented ... AND they are very well staffed... NEVER a wait.. (tho' to be honest we never have to wait at the other Walmart either ..but both Targets do have issues with the number of registers open.).

Like I said - I really think it depends on management - NOT the chain as to friendliness and cleanliness of a store.

I love Walmart. I save about 20% off my grocery bill when I shop at Super Walmart, and I can pretty much find anything I need there, for less money than anywhere else. We have bought everything from food to clothes to shoes to plants to furniture there, all the same brands for lower prices than elsewhere.

Ours is not dirty or full of rude employees or customers, as everyone seems to complain about. It is actually in more of an upscale part of town than where I live. :confused3 . I do go to the Super Target down the street from Walmart on occasion, but I usually leave saying, I can get that at Walmart cheaper. :teeth: It is actually a running joke in our house, my son will ask where we got something (for some reason he is in a stage where he is obsessed with that), and we will just say "Where do you think?" He knows Walmart is the answer. :lmao:

The Wal-Mart near me seems to always be clean, and its extremely cheap and convenient to get many items at one stop. So what wouldn’t we like about it? We shop there quite often, and simply go to other stores if we need something (or like something better there) that they don’t have.
