Do you like Ken Jennings hosting Jeopardy?

I have been watching The Chase but do not like having all 3 of them wish it was just Ken was never a fan of the other 2.

(re: The Chase)
i enjoy this version, but the version on Game Show Network was even better. I enjoyed the banter between Brooke Burns and Mark Labbett AKA The Beast.

I thought the show seemed familiar! I must have seen that version at some point.

DH and I like how while one is the chaser, the other two are kind of "in the booth" commentating.

I'm not a fan of change, and I think Ken is doing a good job (and that he's grown into it). I guess the guest hosts are a done deal but I would prefer no more change, even temporarily. The only one of those named as upcoming that I would be interested in seeing is Mayim Bialik. I would also be interested in LaVar Burton, but as has been mentioned, he's not on the list at this point. That said, I'd just prefer Ken keep on doing it.

Yes. Mayim Bialik and Katie Couric are on the guest host list.
And Savannah Guthrie.

Yuk! Talk about not liking some voices. :headache: Katie Couric sounds like a smurf. It's no wonder she couldn't hold the CBS evening news anchor position. She was fine as a smurf during the morning show. But, people want someone with some vocal gravitas for the evening news.

Can't stand Mayim's voice and Savannah sounds like a little girl.

Are the producers purposely bringing in bad hosts, so Ken Jennings seems like the best choice? :confused3

I'm hoping that LeVar Burton gets a shot at guest hosting.
I'd love to see LeVar Burton in the role, but I think it's been mostly a fan-driven rumor that he's in the running, since he's not on the schedule (yet?). No idea whether he was asked and turned it down or whether he wasn't asked at all.

I haven't heard any rumors about him. But, I loved him on Reading Rainbow.

I knew about it because many of my social media interests are trivia-related, and it's all over online Star Trek communities, as well (big surprise, right?), but there's also this petition at Change dot org, which has over 100,000 signatures so far, and it's been covered more widely, such as by CBS News, Newsweek, and Good Morning America, for instance.

And since I ran across this while grabbing those links, I need to amend my earlier comment: Apparently he has specifically said he'd be interested in doing it, which means the lapse is at the producers' end. C'mon, producers, at least give him a guest spot while the revolving door is still open!

I'll bet that Alex Trebek agrees with you, but sometimes it can't be helped. No one is going to live up to Alex and from what I can tell Ken has spent almost as much time on the show as Alex did. He is the most natural, non-controversial one that could be found.

I had read somewhere that it was a deliberate decision not to select a permanent host from the start to avoid comparisons to Trebek, and to create a break in the action, so it won’t feel like they are trying to replace Alex.

Yeah, but they may not have been thinking Ken would be so good. I like that he spent time as a contestant, knew Alex pretty well it seems, and is always gracious. I am not sure the others will have that stlye.

For me personally; he just isn't charming at all and to me isn't the best fit.
I think you'd say the same thing about Alex in his first season. Ken is doing great - I expect he'd grow into the role, and we KNOW he could hold his own against any of the future contestants.

I'd like to see Andy Saunders get a shot. Who is Andy Saunders? The host of this podcast;

Yeah, the thing I like about Ken is he has that "street cred"...he has been in the contestant's shoes. For many hosts I would guess they are reading the answers from the cards but with Ken, I always wonder how many he just organically already knew lol. And he seems low-key enough to step back and let the contestants shine.

I like him. I don't want a professional host or celebrity - give me Ken!

Given some of the names on the guest host list, I don't think the part I took the liberty of bolding can be overstated.

So how does everyone feel about Mike Richards?

I think he's doing alright, although nothing at all from him when a contestant made a run and cleared the Cracker Jack category. Is that not something to at least mention anymore?

Personally, I'd take Ken Jennings over Mike Richards.

The upper half of Mike's face doesn't move and his expression barely changes. Very plastic looking, although vocally, he is more expressive than Ken. I prefer Ken.
