Disneyland 70th speculations and news

Just got back from a magical 3 day trip including the actual birthday/17th. It was crowded, but by working the app/LL we were able to get a ton done! Rancho El Zolo Fantasmic dining package is 1000% worth it, and we were Pixie Dusted front row seats in actual chairs for the 10:50 PTN! We got a spot in the noon drop for Walt, and I am really happy I got to experience it on opening day. Such a great time!

Do we know when the 70th celebration will end?
As others have noted, you are likely safe through the first weekend in August. Look for the date that the two lower keys become unblocked in early August 2026 (already out now), and that is kind of a signal from DLR for the "end" of summer operations. This year, some of the parades and shows are halting daily performances in early August while nighttime entertainment continues nightly most of the month.

Wow! How did this happen?
We had first Fantasmic show, then a LL for Tiana. After, we were hightailing it to the Small World mall to try to try to catch Tapestry and the 2nd PTN. A plaid was standing outside of Mad Hatter and just walked up to us and said "do you want to see the 10:50 parade? I can take you to seats." Um, yes! The only thing I can think is they had unsold dining package seats and decided to pixie dust them. I have two Disney tattoos (castle and hitchhiking ghosts) so I may have been pegged as a megafan.

They use to regularly fill the vacant seats at F! By asking random guests. They still sometimes do it but not as consistently… plenty of times the entire area was empty!

I just got home yesterday from a DL/WDW trip. The DL part was tacked-on kind of last minute because I didn't want to wait until next summer to see the 70th stuff, which is when we intended to go to DL (we alternate WDW and DL for our yearly Disney trips). The hype on this thread definitely helped make that decision, lol!

Anyway, I just wanted to share that a highlight about the 70th for me was the Great Rainbow post-show after WoC. I haven't heard this mentioned much! Of course, PTN is so so good (I hadn't seen it before but made sure to catch it every night); Wondrous Journeys, Tapestry of Dreams, the new WoC, and all the decor were all great. Even the cavalcade was better than I expected, made us feel pumped. We also loved doing the DL Key scavenger hunt. But I think Great Rainbow by Scott Hoying is a really nice song, and hearing it with the fountain and lights show after WoC was really moving. A sleeper hit--so don't walk away when WoC ends, stay for Great Rainbow!
