Do you let your teens talk on the phone all night?

:confused3 My DD hates the phone....does not have a cell phone...rarely checks her e-mail and can't stand IM's.....guess I'll count my blessings. Now DS on the other hand...

Both of mine are usually in bed by 8, so I tell them to turn off their cells due to the fact they are always getting calls like 2,3,4 in the morning. Of course they don't hear the ringing and i do  So I am always telling them "Turn OFF your cell phones"

If only my partner could here some of the conservation this girl was talking about. :sad2:

There is no good reason for a 14yo girl to be talking on the phone in the middle of the night to anyone. My 18yo DS talks to his friends all night long, but he is an adult and he does it so that no one else is disturbed. But he wasn't allowed to do that until the last 2 months.

It's too easy for kids to be drawn into relationships over the phone with people they don't know. I would think your partner wouldn't allow her to be on teh computer unsupervised for several hours; the phone is no different. And I'm guessing the conversations she is having are probably not suitable for her caretakers to hear, which is why she is havng them at night.

I've gotta hand it to you for trying to raise her, though. It's a very hard thing, parenting a younger sibling. God bless you and i hope you can work things out.

My stepdad used to tell me and my step brother nothing but trouble lurks in the wee hours.
