Do you know anyone famous?

My grandfather is famous in a few circles... amoung the older crowd. LOL He plays trumpet/saxophone with Merle Haggard.

I have met lots of people as I lived in LA for awhile.

My mom LOVES Merle Haggard.

I am friends with several best-selling authors (southern female authors). They are my mentors (because I am trying to get published). :)

Dot Frank? Anne Rivers Siddons? Mary Alice Monroe?

LOVE all of them! :)

DDad is in television so I met tons of famous people growing up. He used to do Soundstage and we would go watch. Oak Ridge Boys, very nice, Doobie Brothers ditto. Gordon Lightfoot was a jerk. Jesse Jackson was smooth to the point of being oily. We used to tease Dad that he had an FBI file. One year back in the 70's, there was a Presidential debate at the station so he had to have a thorough security check. His biggest claim to fame was hanging out of a helicopter shooting Cheap Trick in concert, that was way cool.

I am famous because I was on Romper Room as a child... :rotfl: I was a stand in, whenever there was a sick kid, they would call my dad and ask him to bring me in. I remember getting a box of cereal as a reward once...

DDad also went to school with Harrison Ford. "Harry" was an AV nerd! Dad's old yearbooks are a hoot. There is the very dashing (now) Harrison in a checked shirt buttoned all the way up to the neck! :lmao:

We can all say we "know" you when you get published!

I'm loving all these famous people. I'm a very star-struck kind of person.

Hmmm, I will definitely be checking these ladies out. :) Thanks!

Morten Harket is my 1st cousin. I know, he's not famous anymore (well, not here in the US), but he used to be :rotfl: Remember the group a-ha?

Ya know...he truly is a beautiful man! :rotfl: BTW a-ha was my very first concert I ever attended...I think I was 13 or 14.

I wish...she is great to read though, isn't she?! I love her. :)

Definitely do, they are all really great writers.

Mary Kay writes fiction. Very funny fiction. Karen White and Wendy Wax also write fiction and are very, very close friends to one another. They live near me and we meet often at the local book store or library. Hollis and Lauretta are non-fiction, very funny too, and are also on NPR. They are also very close friends to each other like Karen and Wendy are. Hollis has a show in development for Showtime. Iris has been an author for ages. She was the first 'real' author I knew. She also writes fiction, crime thriller fiction mostly although she did write romance novels in her early career.

My first published book will have a dedication to these ladies, because they help me so much. :thumbsup2
