Do you know anyone famous?

I used to know a guy who had been in the band The Bay City Rollers very well and was even in the wedding when he married my best friend. Otherwise I've met lots of people but he's the only one I hung out with.

I met only a handful of famous people such as We the Kings and some other minor bands, also had Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance wave to me in passing at a concert before. It was awesome.

I've also worked with Terrance Mann who played the original Rum Tug Tugger in Cats and the original Beast in the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast. Oh yeah, as a Disney geek I was flippin' some serious burgers! :rotfl:

I used to play with a couple of the Washington Senator's baseball players kids. Back in the late 60's/early 70's they lived in apts in the suburbs outside DC, even some well known players because they just didn't make the money they do now. I know the wife (and her parents) of a current Washington Redskin who is very recognized, especially in the DC area. I also used to work part time in a local neighborhood association gym and watched the children of a former Redskin quarterback. All very nice people.

I also have met Roger Staubach and his wife (about 4 years ago) and talked to him for a bit. Very nice personable guy.

The most famous person I went to HS with is probably Scooter the DJ who is very well known in the Orlando area. No one from my HS that was there when I was is well known otherwise.

I went to high school with Ryan Gosling. I knew him when he was on the Mickey Mouse show :lmao:

Ive met

GWAR
Misfits
Type O-

There are others that I just cant remember

Some of the members of GWAR slept in my friends basement once! LOL!
Since you brought up 80's music, some of my good friends growing up were the guys from Corrosion of Conformity and Confessor. Have met Simon BOB a few times, not impressed. But Danny Gallant did a lot of the original album artwork for some of those bands and he waited tables with me at Chi Chi's! :lmao:

All I know is Ric Flair. He used to be a super regular at the bar and we all drove him home more then once. I had never herd of him until he started coming in. Even then no one really cared except the guys who freak out and ask one of us to ask him for an autograph. He never said no but we started to refuse unless it was a little kid.

Ric Flair! That's awesome! I met Leon Spinks and Big Daddy Kane hanging out with Michael Buffer (let's get ready to rumble!) once when I was working at TGIFridays. Leon Spinks was one of the nicest guys ever. Michael Buffer, not so much!

But my favorite sports meeting was Phil Ford and Walter Davis having dinner with Dean Smith before being inducted into the NC Sports Hall of Fame. I am a UNC TARHEEL JUNKIE!! I almost passed out.

Went to school with and was friends with Dwayne Johnson.

:lovestruc

From music (besides the 80's punk rock days) I have met Sting, Toby Mac, Jason Castro, and John Cooper from Skillet.

I ran into Howie from Big Brother at the LAX after his season. He was exactly like he was on TV! I loved it!

And I met Joe Pantoliano from the Matrix and other movies outside of Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD two years ago!

I am first cousins with a former President of the United States. )!

Well-first cousins's parents are siblings-right?
So the only former president that could be is Bill Clinton or George W-all the others are too old to be your cousin-right?:confused3

Lessee... I went to Vacation Bible School with Randy Quaid when we were about 6 years old, and I went to high school with Shelley Duvall. (Only for a year, though, since she was two years ahead of me.)

Other than that, I met GEN William Westmoreland (though he'd never remember it), and I once smacked then-governor of Texas Ann Richards in the jaw.:scared1:

No, no, it was an accident! We were on a fund-raising walk, going uphill, and she was right behind me. She got too close and I got her on the back swing. I apologized and she said not to worry about it, although I think that last may have been for the benefit of the two burly gentlemen walking on either side of her. The ones with wires in their ears.

Other than that, unless somebody I've known has managed to get famous without telling me about it, that's about all.

I think, many many years ago, he used to live across the hall from me in an apartment complex near Sea World. He wouldn't remember me I'm sure.

My ex-dh did stand-in studio work all the time for quite a few rock bands in the eighties. But he was an a$$ and would never tell me who he played with.

I don't know anybody famous except for my 3yo granddaughter....she's so beautiful and brilliant she'll be queen of the universe by the time she's 8 :lmao:

They didn't say 'living' former presidents... and they didn't say if they were once/twice/whatever-removed. Different people render relationships in different ways.

agnes!

Darrell Green of the Washington Redskins rented the townhouse next to me while waiting for his home to be built. I had to politely ask him not to keep parking in my reserved space

I grew up with Brian Hoyer who plays for the New England Patriots. He dated my best friend in high school so we all hung out a lot.

I am a teacher and have had several students with famous parents. Always fun to look at my class lists at the beginning of the year.

My list is pretty paltry.

Best I can say is I maybe met Donnie Bretherton from the show Billy The Exterminator. She is Billy and Ricky's mom on the show. It took me awhile to figure this out (and maybe why I loved the show so much!) but she was a secretary at my high school back in the mid 80's, working in the principal's office. I alway wondered why she caught my eye so much! But I can't remember if ever spoke to her, since I was a goody-goody and never sent to the principal's office for acting bad!

And yes, being she lived in NJ in the late 80's, she had the BIGGEST hair around!! :)

Wow!!!!!!! :lovestruc

In my business I work closely with many very famous people (I do I.B., so whether I like it or not I get to meet many whose money I've placed). I'm not trying to be mysterious when I say that unfortunately I cannot disclose their names or even any vague details. I also know over a dozen billionaires, and all but one are incredible down to earth and are very pleasant people. The one who isn't, however, is really a jerk (but I suspect he would be even if he did not have a dime to his name)!

I'm guessing no. 3 on the list, based on reputation plus what my dh has seen first-hand.

Yes.

And then define famous. If Oscar-winners and nominees count, then yes many times over.

And then, does it count if the famous person recognizes me but can't come up with my name? Then yes again as well. (I work with actors but I'm really in a operations job at a studio. Actors will see me, know that I manage the stage, but couldn't name me if their life depended on it. I don't really count that.)

Ive met

John Ritter
Joyce DeWitt
Rock Hudson
Phil Silvers and his daughter Cathy
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Blue Oyster Cult
Jethro Tull

Insane Clown Posse
3 Doors Down

I LOVED GWAR!!! Their shows were awesome and unmentionable.)

I dunno how famous they are but I visited a man who for 20 years or so used to host a local Los Angeles Surf radio show. He did several interviews while I was there so I got to visit a bit with some of his guests. One was the drummer for Dick Dale and another is the gentleman who's quite famous for his album cover art like the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, the Doors.

The radio host also dragged me to a birthday party for Sandra Dee....at her home! LOL

My gramma lived next door to and used to babysit little Frances Gumm. *google*

I occasionally sell items from my shop to famous people. :p

My Malti-poo is Jessica Simpson's dog daisy's (R.I.P) brother. So I guess we are in-laws. :rotfl2:

Also I don't know if this counts, but my Aunt used to be the Vice President of CNN.
