I think I'm supposed to, but I can't find mine. Everyone at work knows my name anyway, I guess it's ok I don't wear one. I hate wearing it anyway (has a high duty magnet on the back and I'm around too many computer stuff to feel comfortable wearing it).

If you have to have one, does it have your pic on it? Mine doesn't. Thank goodness.

Yep! The store I work in wants us to wear one. Mine just has my name and the store name on it. It's also a magnetic one, but since I'm not around computers, I like that since it doesn't leave holes in my blouses or sweaters.

They told me the back of the magnet is so strong, it's unloseable. I lost mine. Someone gave me an extra one, but I can't find my name tag thingy.

Yes nametag with my picture, it's not pretty! They also gave us this huge lanyard with the name of the school embroidered on it. I tried wearing it today, just too annoying. I just clip mine on the bottom of my sweater or on my pants pockets so it is as unobtrusive as possible.

We're supposed to... but I usually only wear mine when I leave the office...

I'm at University now but at my last job we sort of did, but not really. It wasn't a name tag exactly, but rather a security badge pass that clips onto a belt or pant pocket. They had the name and picture on the front to get through security and card key reader on the back to open doors etc. But in terms of walking past someone in the hall and using it to read their name, that wouldn't really work as the print is too small for that purpose since it's a security badge rather than a name tag.

Yes i wear a name tag. I also have a photo id which is needed to access places at work with a barcode on the back.

Yep. I think it's a state law in Mass. for hospital workers to wear an ID with their name and title and pic. For those of us that work in the Maternal/Child Health areas, we have a pink badge and the rest of the hospital has blue ones.
DH has to wear a name tag...he is a Police Officer. Per order of the Union, each officer gets $400 a yr to wear a name tag.

I need two work ID's....I need the company ID which allows me into certain places and I alsd need to have a state issued license to be able to even walk in the building. They both have my picture on it....one even has a physical description....including weight...LOL

Well, I'm supposed to have a ID for working at the University, but I have a secure building.

DH can't go anywhere without his ID. Picture, Name of Company, lanyard/ and I think his department on it.

He can't even get in the building

No name tag. We have to wear a badge with our picture and name on it. We also have a badge that goes with it that lets us into the building and into the computer room.

Yes, I do have to wear a nametag at work but does not require our picture on it. :teeth:

Yes, we have to wear a badge to get into the different buildings.

However, I just clip mine to my purse. Otherwise if I wear it on my clothes or hang it around my neck, I forget it at home.

I am continually surprised what areas my badge will allow me into. The badges are programmed for a certain security level and I must be on the "Let-her-in-anywhere" list. Maybe it's because I have been there 26 years! After all this time I am no security risk - I can barely carry myself around much less "classified" information!

Does anyone else find that the pictures they take of you and put on these badges are really terrible? My last one had all these dark shadows and it looked as if I had a Fu Manchu long moustache!

I don't have to WEAR one, but I'm a waitress and we do put our name tags on our tables....which reminds me, I should make new ones soon...

Yes, I have a picture ID card for access into certain places in the building, and I have a non-picture keycard that is necessary to get into any of the doors of my company (we occupy 7 floors).

They say it is state law in TN that hairdressers are supposed to wear nametags. First they said if we didn't wear uniforms that you must wear nametag with license # on it (no pic)

I have one of thos magnetic kind. I wear it when I think the inspector is coming--otherwise I forget or feel stupid wearing one. After all, I work alone in my house...
