do you have to pay for FAST PASS?

Stupid question from a newbie. I haven't found a price for them anywhere, which is making me start to suspect they are free. What's the catch? Thanks.

Yes, they are free. The catch is that you can only have one at a time. I believe they expire after you use them or else three hours from the time you got it. After that, you can go grab another one.

The other "catch" is that if you DON'T have a fastpass, you have to wait in the regular line, and everyone with a fastpass is basically cutting in line in front of you.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea- a little blip in a computer is waiting in line for you so you don't have to.

You have to turn them in when you use them so they really don't expire. Depending on the CM working, you might be able to use them after the time shown.

Yes--the price of the software and the machines is figured into the prices Disney charges....also you pay for it in having to wait in longer standby lines if you are not using it and you have to put up with more crowded walkways since those people would otherwise be standing in line if they had to....

AND it is worth every bit of all that...I LOVE FASTPASS!
