I have a reservation with DU in my name and also my sons name
but now my mother and nephew (9 y/o) are coming to stay with us for part of the time
my TA said to add their names when I check in
but...can I still book ME for them-with their names not on the reservation ?
and can I book it or does my TA have to do it ? :confused3 :confused3

If their names are not on the ressie then they are no entitled to ME!! I know this for sure! Just had the same issue with a client of mine...called the resort and ME and they said I had to add the name to the ressie in order for them to use ME. Your TA will have to make any changes to your ressie.

I have a similar question... I have a reservation for 4 days and am using the Magical Express. My sister is flying in and staying with us (paying the 3rd person-in-the-room fee) for 1 night. I contacted Disney to have her added and they say she can't be added to the reservation for 1 day of a 4 day reservation, therefore she can't take the Magical Express. I also contacted Mears (who runs the Magical Express) to see if she could pay to get on the Magical Express and the agent told me "If they are staying at Disney regardless of length of stay, they should be able to use the Magical Express." I understand Disney's dilemma and the Mears explanation, but I am not sure where to go from here. She is not willing to pay the $60 cab ride to Disney from the airport for 1 day's vist. Any suggestions?

If everyone arrives at the same time but someone decides to go home early, can you take names off the ressie and eliminate the extra person charges for the remaining nights? If not, then the same thing applies to persons arriving at different times, everyone has to be on the ressie for all nights to use Magical Express.

How easy is it for Dreams Unlimited to split the 4 night room ressie into 3 nights and one night? Don't jump right into this, the more changes you make the greater the chance of error.

Whatever you do, ME ressies have to be done ten days in advance. As a last resort the later arrivals can just try to stand by for ME.

Thanks for the tips! I had thought about splitting the reservation, but we have the free dining package with the 4 nights and I worry that changing that reservation to 1 night and 3 nights will end up causing us to lose that deal.

My sister is arriving at MCO at the same time we are, so adding her to the reservation for 4 nights and then cancelling the remaining 3 might be a possibility. I assume that we would have to go down to the front desk to cancel on the day she leaves? Has anyone ever done this? Since our trip will be paid for before we arrive, how does cancelling a portion work? Would they reimburse my credit card? Thanks for all of your help!

I was told by guest services that a person not on the reservation can use ME if they have the luggage tags. I have 2 rooms booked in my name, I am switching one to my brother's name at check in. I was told to just give him the extra 2 luggage tags in my name. I can't add him now because then it will look like there are 3 adults in the room instead of 2 and we'll be charged the extra fee.

We're in a similar situation dcgrumpy. Both room reservations are in my name (SoG overflow), but one of the rooms is for my MIL and niece. Their names aren't listed on the printed confirmation, but I put their flight information into the DME on-line system, and their luggage tags arrived earlier this week. The luggage tags have both my name and each of their names. They are arriving around 9:00 AM, and we aren't getting there until later that evening (5:30), and I've been assured by DME and WDW that they won't have any problems so long as they have luggage tags.

Sounds like passing along a luggage tag for her might work. My only concern is if the luggage has my name on it without hers. Does anyone who has taken DME know if they actually have a list of names that they check off as people are boarding the bus?

Also, we are arriving late at night and have heard that if we want our luggage once we get to our room (around midnight) we should pick it up ourself at baggage claim. Does that throw a wrench in the plan?

It's not the luggage or luggage tags that are the problem...you can give those to whoever you want.....Disney doesn't know what your luggage looks like! LOL It's the actual tranportation that is the problem....I was told by both guest services and ME if a name is not on the ressie then they can not use ME. Just like if you get to the airport you can not just use ME without a prioir arrangement....even if you just want the ride and no luggage assistance.

Just call ME and ask the questions....they should be able to answer you correctly by now! LOL

I was worried that might not work. I called ME and they told me regardless of length of stay, any Disney guest is eligible to take the ME. But since she can't be added to the reservation for only 1 day of a 4 day reservation, ME has no way of knowing she is staying there. It seems there should be a fix for this problem - either add her to the notes of the reservation saying she will be there for 1 day. Or allow her to pay ME for the transportation to the Pop Century. Keep the suggestions coming... please!

Do you have a room only ressie or package?

"She is not willing to pay the $60 cab ride to Disney from the airport for 1 day's vist. Any suggestions?"

Renting a car for one day might be cheaper if she can get an economy car. Other than that I do not think she has many options. Only other thing is for her to get her own room for a night and set up ME but if she is not willing to pay that much for a cab then I'm sure she is not willing to spend the mony on the room. You can not add her to the package because everyone in the room must have the same package....you can not even add her for 1 night!

Sorry, I do not have any other ideas! Good luck!
