...see a stranger walking up your driveway and then you HIDE?!

I do it all the time. Just now in fact. Two women were coming to the door and I hid until they left. I suspect they were selling something, either useless junk or religion - I wasn't about to buy, so I HID!

I feel so totally mature.

Yep...I'm guilty of that!

i tip toe to the door, look out the peephole and then quietly stand there until they leave... LOL :)

My brother and I used to yell for the ice cream man out the window and then duck down when he'd stop... not very nice but kind of funny to us LOL

Yes. Me and the cats always do this, we are very shy. :teeth: We are also afraid they are Jehovah's witnesses.

HMmmmm I must be the only one that likes to talk to strangers ..just so I can chase them away...LOL

I have hidden, but my absolute favorite is answering the door when I know it is the nice Mormon kids on their mission with a glass of wine in my hand. I have absolutely nothing against the religion or the kids on their mission, but it pretty much ends the conversion talk when I answer the door like that! Hee hee.

Been there, done that.....

well unless it's a guy without a ring on, and he looks like (see sig below) :p

Ha! I recently nicely told some Baptist girls that I'm an atheist when they asked me if I have a church that I go to. They looked frightened!

When you live in a rural area, people just don't walk up to your door like that. It's pretty creepy when you move to a subdivision and that happens for the first time. I was like, 'who do these people think they are coming up to our house like they were invited???'

We do it, too. I don't like the young men in white shirts and ties who want to "show me the truth" or whatever, but almost worse is young kids selling candy bars for like $5.00 to "keep them off the streets". They are vanned into our neighborhood from God knows where. It is very sad, I feel sorry for them, but I pretend we are not home if I can:rolleyes:

I have also done this. Usually if I am home alone.

This cracks me up. I have windows that come pretty low to the floor. I have actually crawled below the windows so someone will not see me.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I also have some windows at ground level and unfortunately, I'm usually right in front of them when someone approaches. Then I have to find a piece of furniture to hide behind.;)

We too have done this . If you want a real challenge try doing it w/ a 4yo and a 2 yo, they think Mom is .....well a little unwell.(not crazy) Shhhhhhh we have to be quiet for a few minutes.....well just til these people leave............but why?? lol

I think we've all done that.

Someone once told me that your telephone and your doorbell are just ways of people signaling that they would like to talk with you.

You, on the other hand, have every right to either answer or not. It is not rude NOT to answer -- it is your choice and your decision.

I particularly wouldn't answer the door when I was home alone. Anyone I know that's coming by pretty much calls before they do, as a courtesy. That is, IF I'm answering my phone...;)

I can remember as a kid, my dad is a carpenter (as well as a Firefighter) and he would do a lot of prep work in our garage, and then bring the stuff to the people's houses he was working on.

One time, some religious folks came up the driveway, and started chatting with him. He told them he was the hired help, and was on the clock, and really needed to get this job done so he could get paid to feed his children.
