The last few trips we did 10 nights and usually felt tired enough to leave by the end. That said, I suspect our issue was hitting things too hard at the beginning and never really felt relaxed or caught up. This time we're doing 12 nights and only doing parks for 8 days; the remainder are rest days or at least unplanned days to just unwind and enjoy the time at OKW. I hope this is the sweet spot for us.
We just finished a 14-night split stay (1 week RIV | 1 week BWV) - was our longest to date.
I was a little concerned it would be too long but the consensus was that it was perfect - we never felt stressed to pack anything in. Some nights we went to bed planning to rope drop only to decide the next morning we’d rather have a lazy day by the pool. I had booked all of our ADRs and maybe we ended up keeping 1/4 of the original - it was fun to just see where the days took us.
Had zero desire to re-enter the real world…already planning our next trip!
We were going to originally - RIV and CCV - but realized that our second week overlapped with the start of F&W and wanted to be closer to EPCOT. We were also traveling with a few family members who were on ECVs and not being as skyliner/bus dependent was a nice break for them for the second half.
I was thinking I'd have a longer visit next year, but I missed my dogs too much on my last trip and decided that I can't go over 7 days again while I still have them.
Since I live in California, I'm even considering just doing Disneyland after my next Florida visit in March. Or, a 6 night or less Aulani stay. My dogs are currently 10, 16 and 17. So, I don't think it'll be many years before I am able to do the 10+ day stays.
Our longest trip was 9 days and we were ready to come come by the end. To be fair it was during the Covid reopening phase and I think a lot of the not normal changes just wore on us. Our typical trip length is 6-7 days and we usually leave wanting a little more.
I’ve stayed 7 nights with one other family at Aulani and wished we had more time. The limiting factors were my wallet and feeling like our family needed to get back to the reality of work, school, and chores.
