I confess. I've actually been listening to an AM station that plays music from the 60's and 70's. There's just something about hearing those old songs in that tinny AM sound that brings back old times.

I also listen to AM talk radio every morning.

Do you ever listen to AM?

well i listen to it hwne theres a traffic announcement ...or whne i babysit the 2 kids i watch and they beg for radio disney

All the good talk is on AM radio around here. Plus, on long drives, you can keep the same station for ages.

Exclusively.

I've never heard any rap "music" on an AM station.

But, then again, I have no idea who the popular musicians are now, either.

yup all the time. My best friends a Disc Jockey and we listen to his morning show most days off the am side because the fm station bleeds over with the other local stations

only when i want to here the organ version of some of the great 70,s sound

I think I like it because it really brings me back to when I was a kid. Hanging around outside during the summer listening to Top 40 AM radio. If I recall correctly, some of the greatest songs ever were only heard in AM sound back in the day.

Not that FM stereo isn't a great thing - it is. But, when you can hear something exactly the way it was heard when you were young - how can you argue with that?:D

ha ha, I'm lucky if I can change off of AM

AM 1300 - RADIO DISNEY!!

I did in AZ, AM1580 KMIK Radio Disney.

Now, no, Radio Disney is out of Boston up here and the signal doesn't reach to my part of NH.

I often listen to an AM news station on my way to work and then AM talk during the day. I love the local Howie Carr show and David Brudnoy at night.

I converted to our local AM talk station last October when my FM stations started playing Christmas songs (before HALLOWEEN). Ours focuses on many local issues and political commentary. Many of our morning FM drive shows are smutty mouthed DJs making insinuating comments and play very little music. So if I'm going to listen to talk radio, at least I get to hear some intellegent opinions.

ITA. Our local morning shows are just plain annoying. Most of the DJ's are middle aged men acting like 6th grade boys. Potty humor and crude sex jokes are all they know. I've pretty much had it with them. At least with talk radio, I learn something useful sometimes. If I want to be entertained, I can do much better than smart mouthed DJ's.:p

I listen to AM radio when there's a sports event I want to hear on, and also, at school when I was homesick. (Even from Syracuse, on a good radio, I could still pull in 760 AM out of Detroit ... WJR, the Great Voice of the Great Lakes)

When I'm at work, we usually listen to talk or sports shows.

It's all I ever listen to. Glenn Beck, Rush, Sean Hannity. It's all good.

Radio Disney is on 640 AM in the Philadelphia area....so when driving in the car, my kids have that playing!

I listen to more AM than FM. I'd say my radio listening breakout estimate would be:

Sports Talk (AM) 35%
Conservative Talk (AM) 25%
Rap (FM) 15%
Classic Rock (FM) 10%
Modern Rock (FM) 10%
Pop/Easy Listening (FM) 5%
