I've been noticing a couple of times in a week about people talking about the "show your signature". Do you ever hit that button? :confused3 I never, ever do - and I never, ever have thought about it before.

I posted a thread on the Theme Parks Board and I got a response about hitting the "show your signature" button and it was totally uncalled for  . Here's the link if interested and the response is #3 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=12224511#post12224511

I just don't get it!!!! :confused3

Hehe, sounds like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed in that post!

Guess she doesn't like to scroll.

And NO, I never hit 'show signature'. I don't always look at the names of who posts and 'know' ppl by their signature.

I don't understand what the issue is. So this person is saying that since you were posting a second time that you shouldn't post your signature that included a picture?

I often recognize a poster through their picture, avatar, etc, esp if I'm scrolling quickly, so I'm not bothered by having a picture on there. If someone doesn't want to see a signature for whatever reason (ie, has an old computer or slow connection which means that it takes a long time to load the pages with the pictures) they can turn the option off.

I didn't even know what that meant! :thumbsup2 I'm on the ball!

Remember what you say when people make comments like that...repeat after me, "Interesting. Thanks for your helpful comment."

I never noticed that button until someone pointed it out last week.

I agree it sounds like someone was :stir:

I really need to start doing this! :teeth:

Wow, didn't even notice this button. Nope, I don't hit it, nor will I begin.

I didn't know that button was there!!! ;)

I like the pictures and such.... keep 'em coming ( but make sure they fit in the DIS rules!!!)

Yes guys...please DON'T hit your buttons! I recognize you by your siggys!

Didn't even know that was an option until the earlier thread. That person was probably just having a bad day!! I wonder if he (I looked at the profile and it said it was a male so I'm assuming it was correct) just doesn't like other person signatures or maybe the earlier thread got him to thinking!

This is one of those times when we need a snarling cat smilie.

I liked how you posted your "off topic!" smilie. LOL

Just to see if you know who I am :rolleyes1

I like looking at signatures. If someone doesnt want to look at signatures they should opt to hide them on their own settings. :confused3

no. My siggy is three lines long. I don't think its gonna offend anyone. :confused3

Personally I block all signatures. Mush easier to read the boards without all the pictures and such in a lot of signatures.

It's funny, I saw this thread after posting in the one on the Attractions board and was like... wait, this can't be just a coincidence! Ha! It's the "little chef" mom again!!

No I don't hit it (of course, my signature takes up only one line) but I don't want others hitting it either- I recognize people by their siggys!!

And half the time I recognize who the OP is in a thread by their signature!

So what if it takes one extra millisecond to scroll down to the next reply? :rolleyes2

I am SO offended at that! :teeth:

Angel, I had no idea that was you! :rotfl:

Actually, overlarge signatures are an annoyance to many posters.

Just looking at this page, four posters (the OP, Icebrat, Jimmiej and Tigger&Belle) have signatures that are larger than allowed by our signature guidelines. :)

In the case of the OP, the sig is rather long and requires scrolling to get past. You should have no more than 12 lines (text, blank lines, smilies, and count one for images) in a signature, and this one has more than that.

Photos need to be a max of 200 pixels tall, and the photos in the next two sigs are taller than that.

Tigger&Belle has 4 images in her sig, and the max allowed is 3.

Our signature guidelines are posted in a sticky at the top of the Tech Support forum: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=332080

While the fun stuff in signatures adds lots of life and personality to the forums, threads with more space dedicated to signatures than actual post content do annoy many posters. Also, signatures that are too large are subject to being deleted by the "signature fairy".

Check out the guidelines, and ask on the Tech Support forum if you don't understand the guidelines or need help in how to see if your sig is out of spec. :sunny:
