Just a few weeks ago I could get an AA flight from dsm for 189 now they are 208...but last year we got them for 179...so should I wait on this?? We have allegiant so I am thinking they will go down to be competative with them from des moines esp since they have non stop flights

what do u all think?

either way I am glad I did not buy because now I can get free dining and move my dates around!!

It depends on the airline. Most base fares on forecasts, so the only thing that will change the fare is a change in forecasts about how many people plan to travel.

wow bicker!! you know lots and lots :)

so should I go ahead and book or wait?

My dates are Aug 12 or 13 thru 20...what do u think?

Last year we booked about 3 mos away...

I know lots and lots about airline reservation systems because I was once on the team that maintains one of the largest. :)

So many things could happen between now and then that could affect fares, but I wouldn't hold back my purchase for $20 per ticket. As you've seen it could go higher. Surely it could go lower, but which would be you be more upset about?

Exactly! Chances are, the tickets can't go much lower then $179 p/p, so your really only talking $30 a person (might seem like a lot when you have 3 or 4, but it can go up wayyyy more then $30 a ticket!!)

I agree, I would not hold out for $20 or $30. They could go much higher.
