I'm not going to comment on double cheeseburgers or pool hopping but all of you perfect rule followers who never break any rules are the ones I must get stuck behind on the highway doing exactly 55. None of you EVER go over the speed limit even just a little? I hope not because those are the rules!!

Would it REALLY be that difficult to wrap your brain around the fact that I DO drive the speed limit? My precious, invaluable, much-loved baby girl is in the car with me 99% of the time... why WOULDN'T I drive the speed limit?????

Your post makes it sound like that simply couldn't be possible! And if you're stuck behind me going 55 (or 65 where I live), did the thought ever cross your mind that I might be DOING YOU A FAVOR??? :confused3

eta: So what you're saying is that as long as we only break the rules "a few times" or "on occasion" it's okay? Well EVERYONE drives... but not every spends every day at WDW! SO, don't you think that if what you're saying is true, then EVERYONE would see WDW as "one of those times" where it was okay to break the rules? Sheesh! Where are your heads, people??

Restaurants are paid for by the people dining not the people who have rooms. Everyone is welcome to get what they pay for.

Yep. That'd be me that you're stuck behind, plodding along at almost a mile per minute. I'm also the person who pulls out the cel phone and dials the Florida Highway Patrol when people on the interstate come whipping past me at breakneck speed. I also don't litter, don't jaywalk, and don't pirate music, television, software, or movies. I wasn't aware that following the law made me uncool.

Though I'll admit that the *FHP thing makes me witchy, but it's not just wannabe racecar drivers with Speedy out there on the highway. I've known too many people who have been hurt or killed by careless drivers to sit aside and do nothing as they sail by at 100mph.

Okay I knew after I wrote the post about the speed limit someone would come along and say that yes, they do follow the speed limit to a "T". I'm not talking about driving 100 mph like an idiot. I'm talking about "a lot" of people that drive up to 5 mph over and it is dismissed, but it is still breaking the rules. I'm glad you NEVER go over the speed limit AT ALL. But most people I see on the highway cannot say that. The point I'm getting at is that yes, rules are made to be followed but some are slightly broken. It's not up to me what the "grey" areas are but there are "grey" areas. Some are a big deal and some not so much.

You know what!? My son is a Citadel Cadet and you want to talk about RULES! I am the Rules and REGS that You are talking about and this past Sat night some unliscensed driver hit his best friend also a Citadel Cadet and his family, leaving our house, at a intersection, She didn't think she had to stop at that Red light and rolled them four times, let me repeat that , four times , down the highway. Thank God they survived! So lets not even go with the hwy rules and Regs not being followered! There was nothing left in there car but the people and only that because they had their seat belts on. The Cadet driving, his head still was dragged across the hwy but it took his hair and Thank God left his scull. We were right behind them and when you pull up on that you just might think twice the next time you 10-15 miles over that speed limit.

Actually this is not a grey area. A grey area is when you cannot determine a right from a wrong. Speeding (regardless of whether we all do it or not) is still illegal and wrong. No grey area. Do I sometimes speed? Yes. But, it is not a grey area. If I get caught, I will pay a hefty fine for ignoring the rules. There really isn't slightly broken either. The rule is either broken or it isn't. Since everyone on the boards is human (I'm assuming here so don't flame me ;) ) then is it just a red herring to say that only people who have never broken a rule can comment on the actions of others. No one is perfect. That doesn't mean that pool hopping is right. Disney has expressly said that the pool is for resort guests only. The problem here is that Disney does not have a deterence system that discourages pool hopping.

I'm fairly certain that anyone who says they've never violated any traffic regulation in their lives is lying.

Great Thread.
I have no problem with the burger issue or the dirty diaper. I think both are sorta clever, unless you actually use a dirty diaper.

The pool hopping I can see why people have a legitimate issue with it.

The salad issue is just bizarre. I would have a problem with it though, if I was going to put some toppings on my hamburger and couldn't because because the guy ahead of me just took a huge spoonful of pickles to make some sort of frankenstein salad and there were no more left. The only thing with that is that although the fixings appear free they aren't so that the people who actually bought food contributed while the others who stopped in for a "fixin salad" did not. I guess its a little less of an issue if the person actually bought a meal.
FRANKENSTEIN SALAD???:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I don't know why that struck me as so hysterical, but it's your fault that I blew coffee out of my nose!

Only read first few pages

Diapers tied onto strollers - we bring our own! (strollers, kids and clean diapers :lmao: ) But no parent in their right mind would walk around with one of those. Hey the smell would part the crowds like moses and the red sea :teeth:

The pool hopping - sorry you shouldnt do it - if one of you decided to just nip into my hot tub at home cause hey you have a bath why cant i use your hot tub mentality. Its wrong!!

Double hamburger split- you pay you eat whatever

MUgs - sorry we pay for one each - Cant/ wont be bothered waiting about whilst we all take a sip!

On holiday we budget for spending loads more than normal and we save for it. I work part time to pay for our holidays and i refuse to compromise.

However for those who are less fortunate if a bit of moneysaving means that you are there then good luck and extra pixie dust for you :grouphug:

The money snobs are the ones that they should watch :rolleyes2

OK, we sinners get it. Some of you never exceed the speed limit , never take an extra napkin from the restaurant's dispenser to blow your nose in later, never grab an extra crouton from the salad bar to give to your toddler while you wait for the kid's meal to arrive, never disobey a "don't walk" sign despite no traffic for miles in either direction, never speak loudly in a library, never skip to the end of a movie for fear of usurping the director's "vision", and never had a sip of alcohol as a teenager, or snuck into a drive-in movie, or grabbed a kiss by the lockers despite the "no PDA" rule, or stayed in the hotel pool after hours until someone booted you out, or told your children there was a Santa Claus, or called in sick to school or work when you were just fine, or took two coupons from a stack with a sign that said "take one."

The rest of us are sinners, criminals, thieves, scoundrels and horrible parents, doomed to spend eternity with some Maleficent-looking she-beast stoking the inferno beneath our charred feet, while you pluck harps and think deep-thoughts up there somewhere, congratulating yourself on your incomparable virtue. We are not worthy to be in your presence. Truly, we are not worthy to be in the presence of anyone who has ever been graced with your presence, or anyone related to someone like that within the degree of third-cousin.

Go in peace, and continue to sin no more and not ever no how. In the meantime, I will continue to take that extra lettuce leaf from the condiment bar and laugh maniacally as I realize the stake I am pounding deep into the heart of Disney's profit margin.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :darth:

:cool1: ok people... why don't we just forget this thread ever existed... we suppose to be happy... most of us are going to Disney World!!!

I love Disney.. its the happiest place on earth!

Who has time to keep up with what everyone else is doing!!!

No flames at anyone.. everyone has their own opinion!!!

Have a magical day!

:lmao:
I think parts of this thread are too funny. On our next trip to Disney in Sept I am going to make it a point to try to disreguard all the weird behavior that I see people doing at the pools...I'm not talking about the pool hoppers but from all the miserable people who are so consumed with "identifying, tracking down, and turning in" all the pool hoppers that they cant even enjoy their own vacation.

I'm sorry but anyone who makes an announcement months in advance that when they get hundreds if not thousands of miles away from home, on a vacation that they have paid thousands of dollars for, in the company of their loving family, in one of the "happiest" places on earth that the only thing they can think about doing when they get there is turning in a family for pool hopping then you must be a miserable person. I really feel sorry for these people and their families. :hippie:

Believe me, I don't let something like pool hopping ruin my vacation, but this sort of warped logic really gets to me. They don't respect their fellow man, unless that is if they are just "doing his or her job". WTH?!?!? So, it is okay to walk barefoot in a restaurant, use your hands in the salad bar, take a pack of gum without paying, insert any behavior that is considered offensive, illegal or just plain rule breaking? It is okay, of course, until someone who works there tells you that you can't? That make absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. If you know it is offessive or against the rules, have some common courtesy!!!

WOAH!!! Easy Peezy there lemon-squeezy!!! How dare you judge me! "Warped logic???" WTH are you?! :furious:
I am absolutely APPALLED by the way some of you respond to your fellow DIS'ers! You should be ASHAMED of yourself. You wanna talk offensive?! I have to say it's quite humorous of you to be OFFENDED by Pool-hoppers , but you don't think it's offensive to insult someone's logic! :rotfl2:
I never thought I would encounter people like this on a Disney discussion board. It's really shocking. I always thought the people on this board were all like me: Happy-go-lucky, laid back, carefree Disney fans, with nothing but nice things to say-however, I am CLEARLY mistaken. :sad2:

And I do have respect for my "fellow-man". (Again, I am absolutely appalled by the way you so carelessly judged my character.) But you would have some nerve to approach someone you don't know and tell them what they can or can't do. My point wasn't to DISrespect people, but to let the castmembers do their job. If a castmemeber is working at the pool and I'm, hypothectically, a pool-hopper and they don't say anything to me, then why should you? If it's okay with them, then it must not be that big of a deal, and it should be ok with you. But if it's not okay with the castmemeber, then so be it. And like I said, I'm not even saying I pool-hop, I never have so far, but if other people do it, I don't know, personally, my life is way to fulfilling to worry about something so trite. It's like, if someone passes you on the highway and you're going 55, are you gonna pull them over??? Nope! And why not? Because that's the cops job.

That's really ashame. And I really do feel for you. I feel bad for you that you waste so much of your time and energy worrying about people as innocent as pool-hoppers. Man, I am SOOOO glad I don't worry about stuff like that. I have way too many other, more important things to worry about. :cool1: :woohoo:

REJOBAKO: Nicley put :thumbsup2

Oh yeah and By the way, VICKIE46, I couldn't agree with you more! I love Disney! And with the exception of some Disney guests, it truly is the happiest place on earth....I wish I was going to WDW really soon! :teeth: But I'm not. :guilty:

You made me remember that at DL's GC you need a room key to get into the pool area. I wonder if they did that because fo pool hoppers or people just coming off the streets to swim. That would be one way WDW could deter pool hopping.

And if WDW did this with room keys they would be clearly enforcing this rule. And I'm sure people wouldn't even try to pool-hop or break the rule if they were this stern about it. I think it would defintely deter pool-hopping.
If I couldn't use a pool b/c of this feature then fine, end of story.
And like I said before, I don't think I would pool-hop anyway, just because for me it's just inconvenient. If I have a pool right outside my hotel room where, when I'm done swimming or tanning, i can go right upstairs and take a shower or take a nap, then I'd rather be right there instead of having to take Dis transportation all over the place to get from point A to point B. That's why I was never a big fan of the Water parks.
But some of the hotels do deter it anyway. Like, when we stayed at the Boardwalk, I'm pretty sure I remember they made us where a bracelet. Isn't that true?

All this talk about hamburgers...makes me want a hamburger...anyone want to share? It will only cost you 79 cents! I get the fries though! :thumbsup2

Did you ask the CM can I pool hop to this pool before entering? If you did and they said you can, no problem here. But if you did not ask then you are not allowed by the CM and there is a problem.

The rule is clearly stated outside of the pools on a sign "The use of this pool is for resort guests only", or something along those lines. If pool hopping were allowed, why the Fort Knox security around SAB, why the ID checking at AKL and WL (saw this first hand April 2006 and May 2004, respectively)? Heck, FW patrons have to sign a form saying that they are aware that they are not allowed to Pool Hop.

You are right in your assumption that it may not be always be easy to determine if the pool crowding is due to resort guests or hoppers. Except for one thing, resort guests have paid to be there. They can crowd the pool all they want. Hoppers are usually easy to spot, only b/c they are usually talking about it. When you see a family get off the monorail or boat with loaded strollers (even w/balloons) and then they stop at the pool (never going to their room), tell their kids to change in the restroom, it's not rocket surgery. :teeth:

I think you meant "rocket science" :teeth: and also, I have never been told of any rules, I've never seen any security, I've never been asked for ID, and I've never signed a form...I guess this is why some people do know of this rule and why others are honestly oblivious. I would've assumed that a sign that read "resort guests only" would mean WDW resort guests b/c they dont want people who havent payed to stay within the Disney Resort to swim in their pools. I just dont see Disney as the type of people to say "well you can only afford to stay at our value resort not our deluxe resort so you cant swim in our big fancy pool cuz you're not good enough"...I mean, either way, no matter where we stay in the World, Disney is getting our money to stay there, so why do they care where we swim? Again, I dont happen to do this for inconvenience reasons, but I'm just trying to make a point.

VERY GOOD POINT!

And by the way, MyZoeJane, this is my problem with people like you: Why is it always about HOW MUCH YOU SPEND??? So, if I'm staying at the Polynesian, is it THEN okay to pool-hop to Grand Floridian? Because I'm staying at a deluxe resort, so I'm allowed to pool-hop within the deluxe resorts because I paid for it????? But if I'm staying at the Pop Century, you can't because, you're not paying as much as other people???

AND TO THOSE OF YOU (MICKEY FLIERS)WHO SAID THAT THE RULES STATE THAT ONLY RESORT GUESTS CAN USE THE POOL, ISN'T WALT DISNEY WORLD A RESORT???? MAYBE IF YOU ARE NOT STAYING AT A WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT YOU CAN'T POOL-HOP. BUT AREN'T YOU PAYING TO BE ON WALT DISNEY WORLD PROPERTY?
IN FACT, I JUST REMEMBERED, A FEW YEARS AGO WE DROVE OUR CAR TO CARIBBEAN BEACH rESORT JUST TO STROLL THE HOTEL AND WHATNOT. WE DIDN'T GO TO USE THE POOL BUT THE GUY AT THE GATE (WHO LETS THE CARS IN) ASKED US IF WE WERE THERE TO USE THE POOL OR IF WE HAD DINNER RESSIES. WE SAID NO, WE DIDN'T HAVE RESSIES, THAT WE JUST WANTED TO SPEND SOME TIME AT THAT HOTEL, SHOP AND MAYBE SWIM AND SO ON. HE ASKED US TO SHOW HIM OUR RESORT ID (WE WERE STAYING ELSEWHERE ON WDW PROPERTY), HE LOOKED AT IT AND OPENED THE GATE, LET US IN, AND TOLD US TO HAVE A NICE TIME. AND IT WAS FINE. HE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE WERE STAYING ON WDW PROPERTY. IF WE WEREN'T HE WOULDN'T HAVE LET US IN.
