Do other value resorts have the activities that ASMusic does?

When we were at ASMusic, there were outdoor movies, games in the afternoon, etc. I thought that it was kind of a pilot program, and I was wondering if it had "spread" to the other values.

Thanks.

ASFAIK All Star Music is still the only value resort that has these wonderful activites.

Pop does offer sidewalk chalk sometimes.

I hope you had a great time at ASMU! :wizard:

Wow I'm surprised by this....Is AsMu the least poplular?
Thanks

Wow. I don't care much about the other activities, but I would love to watch an outdoor movie by the pool.

I have been going to Pop for the last several years and the new things they added was the sidewalk chalk for the kids, and a ping pong table near the pool. They also pick a kid every morning to start the sprinklers at the main pool. They have them hold a magic wand and when they point to the flower they start squiriting water.

We were there on June 8, 2008, too! Funny to think that we could have walked right by each other and not have known!

I hope they do begin to offer the activities at other values. We LOVED ASMu, but DS would like to stay in the Toy Story section at ASMo sometime. However, both my kids loved the activities and the movie so much that I think they'd choose that again over another value.

Well that stinks! :sad2: You would think that all Values would have similar types of programs!

I am happy to hear that Pop also chooses a child each morning.

All Star Music has a child wake the up the 3 Cabrellos each morning.

From this thread:

The parks were not bad. More crowded than we expected but nothing horrible. We waited in line to meet characters longer then we waited for rides!

Waking up the trio - I don't know what it's really called or if it has a name - anyway dh took dd out to swim while I packed. Around 9:30 or 10:00 the lifeguard came over and asked dd if she wanted to help "wake up the trio" (they have names I just don't know them.) the 3 squirting guys at the main pool:

He told her they had been out all night with Mickey but it was time for them to wake up and start squirting. So he gave her maracas and a tambourine and they started playing music and voila the trio started spraying water for the day. She got a sombrero (sp?) hat, a little pair of maracas and a certificate. She was so excited about it. It was neat.

Minnie61650 - we did have a wonderful time at ASMusic in January, and I really appreciated all of your info. We loved the Family Suites, and, unless we can get some fab deal on a one bedroom DVC, we will probably continue to stay at the Family Suites until the kids are older (and maybe even after!). DH even thought that the bus service at ASMusic was more efficient than at WL (where we stayed the year before).

I have a friend staying at POP, so I was asking the question for her.

Thanks for the help!

As far as holding the activities at the All Stars, my guess is that they do the movie and games at AS Music as it's centrally located and people from either Sports or Movies can walk over and enjoy the activities.

I read the the movie and the games were done as a pilot program, and I hope that the All Stars will continue with the movies and games.

I'm not sure that they still do this at POP, but I haven't heard that they don't anymore either...
Bowling in classic Hall... this is for kids and IIRC it was plastic pins and balls and around 3pm :confused3
the CM's do the Hustle (dance) and will teach it to others. I can't remember what time of the day they did this. I'm thinking early dinner time? It may be in the food court area? :confused3
No movies or the like to my knowledge, but they do have the Goofy's Pop Jets.
Of course, lest we not forget that POP's food court is one of the only to have Icees. :thumbsup2

You are correct the activities at All Star Music were started as a PILOT program. I posted on this board many threads asking guests to write to WDW if they wanted these activities to contine at All Star Music, and BC&YC and to be expanded to other resorts.

Here is my post from a tread I stated last August:

----------------------------------------
Post from August 2007

I called All Star Music today. I did call the All Star Music resort # which is 407-939-6000. Of course that # really goes to the switchboard. After explaining I was coming to All Star Music in September and I had read about the pilot program and I wanted more info on the activities and movies she did switch me over to the front desk and the front desk CM switched me over to one of the mangers. Anyway I asked about the pilot program and I was informed it will only last through September but if All Star Music and YC&BC (which also has a similar program ) get enough positive feedback they may expand this program to all of the resorts! Yeah. So anyone is going to All Star Music please fill out the pilot survey which is at the front desk. Please be honest but please fill them out.

There will also be CM's in the parks which will ask guests to fill out surveys. They are usually in the parks from about 8-10 A.M. and try to interview about 30 guests a day who will take the time to answer the surveys.

The manager I talked to today sent me a list of the activities they have planned for September.

I agree! I think that it might actually be a shorter walk to the Calypso Pool from Mighty Ducks (Movies) and Homerun Hotel (Sports) than it is from some of the Music buildings.
Anyway, we are staying at Movies in August but plan on checking out a couple of the activites at Music. :thumbsup2
