IF you have not decorated yet.

I was there last week and decided to decorate my house today. After three additional trips to get MORE LIGHTS - my husband finally said - THATS IT.

I wanted to cover everything with lights so I could pretend I was back in the happiest place on earth.

I think he is really going to be upset when he tries to get in his Jetta tomorrow - I wrapped it in lights - it looks totally cool.

Even the lawnmower? ;) Hey -- maybe I should drag out the wheelbarrow. I have extra lights.... :jester:

we will be in WDW over New Years and I cant wait to see that display. DH will have a heart attack I imagine because--well--you see, in OUR family I am the queen of the lights. this year I set a record and put ELEVEN strands of lights on our Christmas tree. Since we have a townhouse we dont decorate much outside (just icicle lights on the front porch and some white lights on the deck) but I am DYING to get a house to go ALL OUT!

See I am ready to go mental on Britt.... I got the tree up (with 3 little ones helping let me tell you that was an experience) but do you think I can get him to put a single light...NO NO NO

He put up his parents lights 2 WEEKS AGO!!!!!!! But no forget our house which looks completely unfestive from the outside....

Anyone want to come help me put up lights? I could offer you ummmmmmm a pinpics pin?

Darlene, I thought maybe you were going to say you didn't like the Osborne lights :). Yesterday we bought some pine roping & put some on the railing into the house. We then put red, white & blue lights along the roping. We have some roping left, & I was going to jokingly suggest we put the roping & lights along the lounge chairs, tables, etc. :)! We could begin to look like the Osborne's! Just joking...

Figgy I'll come and help you if you help me!!!
it took me a while to get them all untanged and see if they worked...then I didn't want to put
them up!!!! LOL

The Osborn display is just amazing!!!!!! I do hope we get down there to see it again.....

I just finished decorating our four trees - two large, two small.

I am getting a sunburn from the lights in the living room - I need my SPF15.

We have a wonderful theme outside - Mickey. My husband did point out that everyone else had a theme too - Christmas. Who would have thought......

I love Christmas.

We expect to be living in our current neighborhood only a little more than one year. We have already decided that for next year we are going to buy 8 snowmingos (these are white lawn flamingos) and decorate them with blue lights had having them "pulling" a sleigh. The only thing we are not sure of is what/who will be in the sleigh. We figure we can get away with it before they throw us out of the area.

I had the opposite reaction. We were in WDW for Thanksgiving and saw the Osborne Lights that Friday. It was 4 weeks 'til Christmas and I had no desire to decorate from the overkill. Eventually I decorated anyway because I can't not do it!

I LOVE IT. Unfortunately for the power challenged in California. It's going to be a very expensive time of year. We still have the "power surcharge" for going over our paltry allocations.

But keep those glasses. They provide the same wonderful halos and angels on the Christmas lights at home. So you can still get the sensation that you are there!

Seen the Osborne Lights last night for the first time. They were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the red, white and blue decorations.

It was a very nice treat.

We do not decorate since we do not celebrate Christmas. However, we still love the lights and all our neighbors decorations.

When we were kids in NYC, my mother always took us to see the house lights in one part of Brooklyn, NY that was known for their extravagant deocrations. Any Brooklyn DISers out there? Is Canarsie still the hot spot of decorations?

I've seen many wonderful setups in the last 30 years, including the Osborne lights, but none touches the absolutely pure ostentation of those Canarsie row houses and the surrounding italian-owned businesses. :)
