Do not buy tickets from Undercover Tourist

I understand that many of you had good experiences with UT. In fact, I researched them on these boards and it was one of the reasons I decided to purchase through them. I believed them to be a reputable and reliable company. My experience, however, has not been a good one, and I believe it is worth noting given that others may be relying on the information on these boards, as I did.

I've also had amazing service with UT. I wish you'd provide more information on your transaction as well as if you've contacted a supervisor, etc... Going off of unclear and vague information doesn't make a very constructive review imho.

I have used Under Cover Tourist for my Disney World tickets many times and would not hesitate to recommend them :thumbsup2 I had my daughter get her tickets from them for her upcoming trip :woohoo:

I can't help but think there has been a misunderstanding of some sort. I too have had very good experiences with them. One time I bought tickets and didn't have them after 2 weeks. I called them and they overnighted me new tickets. I never figured out what happened. I assume they were lost in the mail. I would recommend them to anyone.

Very strange. :confused3 We ordered tickets from them on our last trip and we ordered them mid day on a Friday and were shocked to get them that Monday!! We were impressed with how quick they were.

Something sounds a bit odd here. Why is OP reluctant to tell UT the date of their trip? Why didn't OP just resolve their issue directly with UT?

I've ordered from UT for years. They are easy to work with, and they give great customer service.

I think you need to be more forthcoming with the info. Who have you spoken to at the company? Have you asked to speak to a supervisor?

I think many of us are baffled because your experience is so far outside the norm for the rest of us with UT.

Sorry you are having such a bad experience. I am surprised though. I too have used them many times and have found their customer service to be very good.

That's what I was thinking :scratchin somethings amiss in this story :magnify:

I've never even heard of someone having bad buying experience with UT. They are reliable and expedient!

Great experience here as well, their customer service is always prompt and excellent. So much so that they advised me to even wait to buy until RFID issue was fixed late last year for MDE rather than purchasing tickets right away.

How are you communicating with them - have you called them and spoken with someone?

This is the first time I have heard anyone have any trouble with UT and since so much info is missing and not being given...I will continue to use UT as I always have.

I also got tickets from them within five days of ordering. I never told them when I needed them, nor did they ask. Sorry for the trouble you're having.

We have used UT the last 3 trips, including for our upcoming trip in April. Never any problems. This time we ordered the tickets and had them within days of the order.

My experience with UT has been lukewarm at best. Three days out from our trip our Universal tickets hadn't arrived so I emailed asking for a tracking number or update. I got same-day response apologizing for not shipping them yet and a promise that they would overnight fedex them. When they arrived, they were the WRONG number of day tickets. I called their emergency number bc we were leaving the next day and they refused to resolve the issue with me until the next day. They only said they didn't have access to our account after hours. I was needlessly stressed out about it until calling them the next day when they offered to email the backs of the tickets to me. So I had to print them out and go early to guest relations to get the real tickets. One reason to use UT is bc they sell "real" tickets you don't have to exchange. The so-called "2 minutes" UT claimed it would take at guest relations was more like 25 minutes.

Add to that I am responsible for shipping the wrong tickets back to them. The email they sent regarding that says nothing about them paying for the cost when it was THEIR error.

In the end, we got our proper tickets but not without added stress and legwork.

Coincidentally, I was so stressed about whether the emailed tickets were going to be good, I could barely sleep and I slogged my family to IOA more than 90 minutes before opening. My family saw the opening line form so they joined it not realizing it was for the Wizarding World early entry we weren't privy to as offsite guests. Well I forgot about that until we already walked through and they let us through the second checkpoint too so we got a little "Darkside pixie dust." It wasn't to UT'a credit but if it hadn't been for the screw-up, we probably wouldn't have been at IOA so early.

Long story short, I think UT's quality and customer service may be slipping up a bit lately. Maybe they are overwhelmingly busy or maybe there's some other organizational issues going on. But in my experience, ordering from them is NOT foolproof, nor 100% reliable and not even 100% customer-focused (making me foot the bill to return tix they sent in their error?!).

Maybe they get it right 99 out of 100 times. I was that one whose order they messed up.

Have used UT three times for each of my last three visits. NEVER a problem.

Even had to return tix once due to a cancellation, refund was perfect.

For our upcoming trip, ordered on Feb 24 and received tix on Mar 10, exactly on the 15 day delivery promise.

I always support and trust and refer UT completely.

Yeah - add me to the skeptics. When I see a claim that UT "has no intention" of sending tickets I'm more inclined to think there's more to the story.

Sorry that you've had problems OP, but don't you think the title of your thread is a bit extreme? I get that you want to vent. And perhaps even use your unfavorable experience as a caution to others. But given that your experience is so far away from that of the vast majority of UT customers, perhaps your title might have been more accurately phrased as "I am having a problem getting my UT tickets". I have to agree with the PPs who feel that something is missing from the information you have supplied.

I've used them before and never had an issue. I received our tickets earlier than expected. I would definitely use them again. Hope it all works out.

How soon from now is your trip?

Granted, Undercover Tourist likely either forgot about your order or was out of stock on that kind of ticket and now it appears as if your order is now on short notice.

So they plan to have you pick up the tickets at Disney's ticket booths as will-call thus they do not plan to ship the tickets (?)

Then some of you have not ordered tickets in a while. There are a few threads here where people are talking about tickets recently purchased being weeks without being sent. Whatever is going on, they are seriously behind and leaving some unsatisfied customers, like myself who read about their fantastic service and ordered for the first time. They are not impressing me either.

My email conformation from them says 10 days. They might list 15 now, but it's not what my receipt says. I will wait the full 10 business days, then I will contact them and I will ask for the same as the OP. My FP window opens this weekend.

It took me over a month to buy, contact, receive, send back, be refunded and repurchase from them. I lost the significant discount with all the waiting. They were no longer the cheapest site to order from, but I felt obligated to honor my word I would reorder from them and have their restocking fee waved. But if they do not come as stated.....I'm not going to be held to my word when they aren't holding to theirs either.

regards

I use them every year and to be honest NEVER have I waited more than 10 days for delivery and the tickets are even sent from Canada to me and I spend far more than 1300 on my family of 5s tickets. I just ordered my Sept tickets 3 weeks ago and recieved them within the same 10 day period as I always have.
