Do not buy tickets from Undercover Tourist

Then some of you have not ordered tickets in a while. There are a few threads here where people are talking about tickets recently purchased being weeks without being sent. Whatever is going on, they are seriously behind and leaving some unsatisfied customers, like myself who read about their fantastic service and ordered for the first time. They are not impressing me either.

I ordered mine in January. They arrived 5 days later. Both multi-day WDW and Universal tickets.

I have nothing but positive things to say about UT.

If it's really that big of an issue, call your bank or CC company and have them take up the dispute. I guarantee you the issue will be resolved.

We ordered our tickets in February for our May trip and had them within the week. We have ordered from them several times, but it has not always been perfect. They once sent us the wrong tickets, but were easy to work with to resolve the issue. We will keep using them as long as we have plenty of time to make sure we receive them in plenty of time.

Writing is in the wall and I imagine it is getting increasingly difficult for UT to remain valid. Unfortunately, I imagine UT has recently cut back.

Just curious, why would you say this?

If you buy from UT using the Mousesaver's link, you save even more , also the UT price INCLUDES the tax - the WDW ticket price does not.

Depending on how many tickets you are buying and your length of stay, the savings can be significant.

I have to buy 4 tickets, soon to be 5. If I save 20/tkt, that's 80-100 bucks savings :) it all adds up.

I used to wonder why do it too, but this is exactly it! :thumbsup2

I imagine it's tough to remain competitive reselling tickets. So why do ppl buy from UCT over DW? I've always wondered. Just looking at their site now...
......
What's the point? Save $10? You can get $33 off buying them from WDW and using the Target 10%-off gift cards.
......
Just wondering, as I've never done it. Is there some benefit other than the $10 off? Is there some special elsewhere that you combine to make these worth it?

So last year I saved $85 dollars for the two us of! :cool1: I was planning to buy two 7 day hoppers for $700 using the mousesavers link, saving $26 per ticket. But, it turns out DW raised prices right at that time, so I saved even more because UT still had the older tickets prices for couple weeks after! (I missed out the year before by waiting too long, so I made sure to buy the discounted UT tickets before they ran out of their stock!). I paid $700 for two 7 day hoppers instead of $785 at DW, saving $85 so that was a great savings for me! We ended up upgrading to AP's after our first park day, so it was like saving $85 on them which I really appreciated! But, I mean even with a 20 savings, that'd be another meal or 2 grand marnier slushies, or souvies... Using UT was simple and easy and definitely worth the savings. I will say that savings vary on the different tickets, some saving one amount with another ticket saving a different amount.

And, actually I could have saved more, reminded me with the Disney gift cards purchased for 10% off using Target card comments. I did buy Disney gc's for all the money we brought with for food(all OOP), souvies, etc. But at the time I bought the tickets I didn't know about buying gift cards using a Target card. But, I could actually buy some visa gift cards this way and then use those to buy the UT tickets! :thumbsup2

7-day MYW for $334, save $10.

I paid $1558 for tix via Disney (7-day MYW) 3A 2C. Same thing via UCT would have run $334.45 x 3 + $269.99 x 2. $1543.33

I paid $1558, less 9.75% thanks to Target, or $1406.10. UCT can't touch this.

Even if no Target discount and paying cash, I'd take a $15 surcharge to buy from Disney ($1558 vs $1543) and not deal w any of this.

Just wondering, as I've never done it. Is there some benefit other than the $10 off? Is there some special elsewhere that you combine to make these worth it?
Target recently discontinued the practice of allowing you to use the Pharmacy Rewards coupon on any gift card purchases, including Disney gift cards. You can still use your Target REDCard and get the discount but it's only 5% now.

I have to say that I have never had a bad experience with UT, but my last two two tickets purchases were from Orbitz, using the ebates cash back program. Their prices were competitive for certain tickets and they emailed me my will call code so that I could link the tickets in MDE ahead of picking them up from a Disney ticket booth. Between the discounted price on Orbitz, the ebates rebate and my 2x travel rewards points on my credit card, it was a no-brainer. Ebates was offering 20% cash back at the time I made my purchase. I can always upgrade those 5-day hoppers to more days if I need them using price-bridging (as long as it's allowed) and paying the difference with gift cards purchased at Target.

OP, I hope that UT can resolve your problem soon. I have always felt that they had quality customer service. It surprises me to see that there are customers who are having such serious problems with getting their tickets quickly.

Hope it works out for you! I have bought all of my tickets from them and have had a great experience.

I hope so, too. So far, still no response to my request for immediate shipment or a refund of my credit card. Frustrating.

Wow coming in here and stating "Do not buy tickets from Undercover Tourist" is like running into a crowded open-air theater and yelling "fire" when there's clearly none as there are a ton of people from this forum alone that have had great purchases experiences with UT, including myself prior to becoming an AP. This is definitely not the norm for this merchant and am curious as to what we're missing with this issue.

I just checked their site. Currently "Free" shipping is 15 business days....
As usual, there is a drop down select for anyone who wants their tickets sooner. They show USPS priority at 5.95...not a bad upcharge for 5 business day ship.

I have used a faster option in the past when I needed my tickets earlier, worked fine. :thumbsup2

I'm not a huge fan of the thread title. I would have upgraded my shipping if I thought I was cutting it too close for when I wanted to book FP+. Life's too short and all that.

Sorry you are having a rough time...I have used them MANY times and never ever had a problem .They have always been great and I will continue to use them.I ordered my Universal tickets the day the prices went up a few weeks ago and I had them a week later.

My email conformation from them says 10 days. They might list 15 now, but it's not what my receipt says. I will wait the full 10 business days, then I will contact them and I will ask for the same as the OP. My FP window opens this weekend.

It took me over a month to buy, contact, receive, send back, be refunded and repurchase from them. I lost the significant discount with all the waiting. They were no longer the cheapest site to order from, but I felt obligated to honor my word I would reorder from them and have their restocking fee waved. But if they do not come as stated.....I'm not going to be held to my word when they aren't holding to theirs either.

regards

I agree. The problems seem to be recently. I've read many negative reviews lately:(

This is what I'm thinking as well. Not responding to customer issues is a huge problem.

Could be. On the other hand, I think there's a good chance there is more to the story than what we have been told.;) I will continue to order from UT.

Underground ticket is only still on my list in the future because I ordered so early.

-I ordered in mid-January got tickets in mid-March (10 day, ph, water)
-They do force you to fill out date of trip (I lied saying my FP+ 60 days out date, July)
-They charge you instantly but hold or don't have your product in stock for weeks

I look at UT as a China clothing store where it has a rep for always getting the clothing out but it can take between 1 week to 4 months depending on the order with no communication. They only keep business because they are cheap.

Never mind - posted in error....

You still get the 5% red card discount. It's the additional 5% phamacy rewards discount that can no longer be used on gift cards. Pharmacy rewards were never available in NY/NJ, so there won't be a difference for you.

Bought my tickets from UT last week, received them yesterday.

On the form, they ask for a "date you need your tickets" not "date of your trip". I simply wrote on the form that I needed them this week. I'm assuming they ask this because they are slammed with orders and want to try and prioritize based on FP Windows.

This is my first time using them, as we normally always booked a package. But we are renting DVC this year, and I went with UT because of all the positive feedback. I'll probably use them for my next trip too :-)

I used UT in January to get my Disney World ticket. It came in the mail exactly one week after I placed my order.

Since BOTH universal and Disney raised prices around the same time and uT had stock of the cheaper tix to sell, LOTS of people placed orders.I ordered tix for 2 different trips that I havent even booked yet. This happens with UT when the themeparks jack up their prices. It takes them longer to respond and ship. When I bought my tix a few weeks ago, I got a warning before purchase that said " due to the large volume of orders , tickets may take longer to ship"

(GASP!) When did they do this? The last month or so?? I just did it in March... if I'm not mistaken, it was you who recommended the practice to me. :)
