But if I set up a separate account couldn't I make book FP+ for that ticket at 30 days out since it would not be tied to an on-site reservation? And to be clear. I don't have an AP. I have a 5 day ticket to use this year and a 10 day ticket to use next year. The 10 day doesn't have NE on it so I would need to make sure no days are used off of this ticket.

Yes, the 30-day advance will work if linked to a separate MDE account. It just seemed you were afraid of mixing up the tickets.

If you have MagicBands for the first set of tickets, only use the MB to enter the park and you will be fine. If not, use a sharpie to identify the sets so you don't confuse them at park entry.

I'm not saying I disagree, but it also depends on the lines...

Taking a two year old when there are 2 hours lines is just not going to work, etc. Teaching them patience is not impossible, but when they are excited and see everything at WDW it's going to be tough!

I'd suggest to take them during a slow time of year when rides that a 2 year old would enjoy would have waits of 20 minutes tops and you could FP the longer waits, etc.

It is not impossible to teach a two year old how to wait their turn and how to have patience. Not sure why so many people think two year olds are incapable of this.

I first took my kids to WDW when they were 2 years old and 9 months old, and every year, at least once or twice a year, since. They are now 14 and 12 and we never had issues with them waiting in lines. It was always as simple as "if you want to ride this attraction, see this show, watch this parade, buy this toy, eat at this location then you must wait your turn", "otherwise we can and will do something else". My oldest son was diagnosed with ADD at age 6 and he was still more than capable of waiting in line like everyone else.

And it's definitely not just my kids. We have seen countless other toddlers waiting in lines without issue. Just last Thanksgiving we traveled with extended family which included a 7month old, a two year old, and a three year old. All three of them waited in line with the rest of us just fine.

We should be encouraging this poster to buy multiple tickets and set up multiple MDX accounts under multiple identities.

Why?

Because she's one person, pretending to be two or more people. She will show up as 2 or 3 or 4 or however many different people she is, when (repeatedly, on the same day) entering the parks.

Therefore, she's removing at least one physical body (if not more) from the crowds in the parks on that day. And, assuming there's a cap on the FP+ availability, she's having no actual effect on the lines.

It's a small (as in really not statistically significant) benefit to the rest of us, but it's still there. And if a whole lot of people decided to do what she's doing, especially on any day that the parks close to capacity... well, Disney would get their money, record increased attendance, and the crowds would shrink proportionately. It'd be a win-win for everyone!

This I understand. However, if you can employ a ticket that has not been used to enter the park in order to obtain FP+ at a kiosk, why would you waste a day from the ticket in order to get in?

If you own multiple tickets and they are linked to separate MDX accounts, you don't have to use all of them to enter the park, but you CAN use them to book FP and redeem them.

No, she won't. Her daughter is under 3. She will be allowed into the park without using a ticket. But the OP's second ticket, linked to a separate MDX account that I assume she is going to set up in her daughter's name, whether it's used at the park or not, can still be used to make and redeem FP+ because the park entrance system is not communicating with the FP+ system. At least that is what I'm getting from this thread.

Her daughter's account does not need to be tied to an onsite reservation, and it shouldn't be if she wants to use both for FP+ on the same trip.

They don't care and they don't look at the screens anymore. I think enough people complained about the cast addressing them by name that it has stopped for the most part. Plus it takes WAY too long. Someone thought it would be a good idea when it just slows everything down.

For this to work there needs to be a quick tap and go, so they just check to see if Mickey lights up properly and there you go. Doesn't help with human nature, like folks who don't want to wear the bands and haven't pulled the bands out of their bags or gotten a ticket ready at the time they approach the scan point.

Yep! Plus I think they were using paper FP data for how long it took for a person or group to get through the FP lane. The 2 times from paper to digital are vastly different and not on the guest's favor.

Actually they are still calling some guests by name. We were there just last week (March 21-31) and were called by name on more than one occasion as we used FP+.

Funny thing is, once at Splash Mountain I had used my elderly mom's MB (because she rides very few rides, so me or my husband used hers most of the week to get a second ride solo). I got through fine using hers, but then when I got off, I put my band back on, in order to get straight back on and the stupid thing wouldn't light up. The CM finally asked if I was using someone elses' band. I told him no and offered to show ID. He said it wasn't necessary and then just waved me on through. I wondered if maybe the scanner recognized my finger from just a few minutes before maybe. The return time showed up on his side, but the finger didn't match (even though the second time through I actually used my own band). My husband had the same problem over at Space Mountain. First we rode it together with me using my band and him using my mom's. No problem, but then he went through a second time solo, using his own band and the scanner wouldn't light up. Again the return time showed correctly, but it didn't like his finger, even though he was using his own band the second time. Again he was just waved on through.

My understanding is yes but only for the number of days of the ticket. So, unless you plan to shell out for a multi-day ticket and not use it (and why would you unless you already had tickets and were buying them for a future trip) then you would only be able to book 1 day of FP+ at 30 days, then would have to wait until that one day had passed before you could book more (I believe).

The only reason we are thinking about it is we already have a 10 day ticket for each in our family of 3 that we are planning to use for our 2015 trip.
