I was just wondering if CMs on the ship have access to the internet?

They have an internet cafe for crew members, but they have to pay so most of them tend to limit their time online and spend most of it emailing to family. But you never know...I wouldn't be surprised if they check out DIS every now and then ;)

DCL management definitely reads this board.

Well then just in case they are... Dec 12 is my birthday. We will be on the magic in 5130 if the management wants to do anything special it's ok with me !!!hint hint:Pinkbounc

I know some CM's read these boards. I have heard the wait staff talk about it before at dinner.

If DCL reads , they don't admitt it.I have e-mailed DCL twice, once to inquire about upgrade(they say they don't give them, yet a lot of members here claim to have recived them), second time was today after spending about an hour on the phone yesterday trying to find out where my docs for 10/27 cruise were. They blame TA, Fed ex couldn't deliver, address change for TA, but no one called me or TA. Good thing I decided to call, or I would still be waiting, DCL offered no form of compensation, upgrade, or appology, just blamed TA.DCL offered to let me pick up at port, might have worked except for MY TRANSFERS ARE IN DOCS!I have tried not to listen to all this talk about the magic being sacrificed for the bottom line, but it's not the kind of service I had come to expect from Disney.

Management should definitely read this board because people are so honest on it. If you're reading this one....thanks again for the trip of a lifetime!!!

I know how you feel, you must be fuming!!! I know that DCL sends docs Fedex but they can't control Fedex or your TA. If you TA changed her address, why didn't your TA advise DCL?? Not to try to push the blame off DCL, but there sounds like there is more to the story. I am thinking on your TA's side.

Also, I have boarded the DCL transfers without documents as I have booked at the last minute before. But if you book months in advance there is no reason why you shouldn't have your documents at least 2wks prior. I presented by confirmation and they said they verify my name to their computer. No worries!!

Hope all goes well for you - look forward to a trip report.

I'm with AnnMorin...DCL if you're listening feel free to bump me from my category 5 to a 3. I wouldn't mind at all. LOL

I agree Ta might have dropped the ball, thats why if there is a next time I'll make arrangements myself, but I think I should have been called. I don't know how long the docs were sitting there, but NOBODY ever called me or TA to inform us.I was so looking forward to this trip, had a great time last cruise, always have enjoyed Disney, but now I feel i have to check up on everything untill it's in my hands.A "sorry, someone should have called"would have helped

We'll my docs showed up, but not without some complications.. we live at 91, they were going to be delivered to my neighbor at 89, fed ex tried to deliver them to 88, lucky my neighbor saw the truck leave and called my wife, who called fed ex and tracked them down...now all I have to do is go throught them when I get home.. is there a black cloud over my head on this trip???

Glad your docs finally got to you. Now you can relax and look forward to the best vacation you will have!!!

Happy sailing.

once I get home and go through them, and everything is ok, I'll go into pre cruise mode, air confirmed, poly set, all PS done, now if I can just fit into my shorts all will be good...:earsboy: I can hear the sailaway horns off in the distance..

Michael...what part of NJ are you from. We live in NY but we are right on the border of Northvale & Old Tappan, NJ.

First of all, why are you doing the work your TA should be doing?? You should be hacked off at your TA, not DCL. It's your TA's fault...plus, DCL is not responsible to keep track of your docs and call you or your TA, it's your responsibility to tell them if they didn't get there...why in the world would you think you're entitled to some kind of compensation from DCL??

Why... we'll I've been visiting MK every 1 1/2 to 2yrs for over 20 years, because each time I go ther I spend a considerable amount of money, because I had a very unplesant experiance back in July. I am sure if they pull up some type of data base they can tell how many times I've been there, and how much on average I spend. I am sure my TA dropped the ball, and I did have a discussion with them, and that's why from now on I'll make the arrangements myself. If Disney is not responsible to inform either my TA or myself that my docs were returned to them, then who is.As I stated when I thought the time frame was getting a little small I called.I have vacationed with other companys and any complications have been handled better. There are a lot of places to spend my vacation dollars with, In the past I have never had a problem with Disney untill the last year. I find it hard to belive that a company of Disneys size can not assign a specific room to a guest when they have months of advance notice and commitment from the guest. As far as compensatrion goes,I never asked for any money back, I inquired about an upgrade, and was told they don't do it.Yet lot's of guests on thos board claim to have recived them for no specific reason. Other companys I vacation with upgrade privious customers based on how often they vaction with them, not based on thier need for space. I did not book a cheap room, I booked cat 5, and then decided to pay for an upgrade to cat 4(I paid $288. for the upgrade, even though the web page said the differance was $200.)This will be my second vacation with Disney in the last six months, and the second cruise in 1 1/2 years.I am not looking for something for nothing, I just want to be treated as a returning guest, and a guest that has experianced some inconvinance should be.

And by the way, IT's been 3 days and they haven't responded to my email yet, as I said earlier"a sorry would have been enough"

Disney e-mailed me,thanked me for my letter, said they would forward it to docs. dept to help avoid the same thing happening to others in the future. Said they were sorry for the trouble. All is good, looking forward to the cruise.
