DME and late arrival MCO questions

I have some questions about arriving late to MCO and using DME. We normally fly out of BWI on the first flight of the day on Airtran so this is really different for us. Our flight is scheduled to arrive at MCO at 10:13 pm. I realize that if it is after 10 pm we need to get our bags ourselves. But what if we arrive early - we normally have always arrived as much as half hour before our scheduled arrival time - I know just lucky! Is luggage service based on when you touchdown or your scheduled arrival time? If we put the DME tags on what happens to our bags if we land before 10 or after 10? Any help would be much appreciated

Airlines will sometimes "misdirect" bags. A passenger will arrive at MCO but his bags will arrive on a later flight. Some of those flights may be after 10p. Airlines/DME have to have a system to take care of those bags.

SPECULATION

DME stops collecting luggage at 10p. Airlines have employees that take "left over" bags off the carousel and bring them to the unclaimed baggage office. My guess is those bags will wind up going to DME the next morning.
