DLR Admission Procedures

I expect the opposite. If they were not checking yesterday, when the world was watching, they don’t intend to. Rule enforcement tends to relax with time, not strengthen. At the end of the day, they are following state policies. They have an attestation from every guest. They intend to increase capacity over time, so if anything, they will need to further streamline the process, not slow it down. I suspect this is why they chose not to welcome the vaccinated from out of state: it would take too long to verify that.
I am glad to hear Disneyland didn't turn their security into the Gestapo on the ID check thing. The only obligation Disney had to the state was to have an attestation at the time of purchase. So basically the honor system. I still plan on staying away as requested but will be back by the fall. It does sound like in-state people are getting a great value for the dollar.

I also agree the ID check thing will become more relaxed, not get more strict as we move forward.

Oh, I will stay away too. There is always a chance of a random check. I don’t need that stress on vacation.

You're probably right about the pictures being deceptive. However, when I look at the lines for admission it makes me pretty reluctant to arrive for opening.
I have visited WDW post Covid, and I never experienced these types of crowds.
Yes. DL is much more crowded at the gates than WDW. It’s really hard to compare the two. IMO the magic bands really speed up the entire entrance process at WDW. At DL, it’s always a much slower process. But, we went Friday and Saturday and everyone we encountered were following the social distancing markers. Most were very respectful throughout the parks too. Once inside the gates the crowds dispersed and it really wasn’t all that bad. Here’s a photo of Adventureland. Thanks for this. actually, we didn't use Magic Bands post Covid at WDW. But I think DLR being crammed into a much smaller footprint makes a huge difference.

I did see people turned away this weekend on a couple of occasions. They appeared to be families who purchased tickets but did not make reservations. The QR code is for back up should your ticket come up invalid we figured out.

Do you scan your key to the magic card at the gates? To me, scanning yourself into the parks seems much faster then having to have the cast members scan you in, print your ticket, etc.

You're right. For DLR , the CM has to provide a ticket at the turn style.

One thing I noticed is that the cast member asked for my ticket, not my reservation, to scan. I was then given a paper ticket. When I park hopped they wanted to see the paper ticket, not the bar/QR code on my phone.

We're staying at the Grand for the first time, have our Parkhopper tickets and reservations for July 1 and 2 (waiting for tomorrow to make our park reservation for July 3rd). We've never stayed at the Grand before-- where is the best place to enter and line up from the Grand for our morning entry? Should we go through the Grand security checkpoint-- is that still open? Any help/insight is much appreciated!! Thanks

Currently, you use the DTD entrance - the “entrance” from DCA is exit-only for hotel guests right now.

A lot will change by July, though, so that’s the sort of question you should probably ask around June 28 to get an actually accurate answer. 😆

I doubt proof of residency checks will happen, since that would require every single adult to provide ID. I just can't imagine Disney allowing an even bigger back up at their park entrances.
I don't see any social distancing at the park entrances now, ID checks would make it worse.
My guess is they are doing random ID checks.

That's interesting. I was there Sunday and Monday and we park hopped both days. Both days they wanted the ticket from my phone, not the paper ticket.

Are they still taking photos with multi day tickets?
On Sunday when I started at DL they didn't take pictures first thing in the morning, but when you re-entered the park they did. On Monday at DCA they took pictures first thing.
This was the case for me on Saturday as well. When I first entered no picture was taken. When I park hopped to DCA around 2pm, they took my picture.
