DL Vet goes to WDW ~ F&W, ToT 10 Miler, & more! *Updated 5/25: Egg Hunting in DCA*

Hello Tania! I'm back from my trip and spending my day off catching up on my subscriptions! Your park touring sounds a lot like ours.. do a ride, grab a drink lol.

I'm too lazy to go check out which dates you will actually be there... We have decided our Fall trip is a go for one last Hoopla and F&W trip with our AP's and have booked through RCI 2 weeks at SSR. We will be there Oct 3-17. I may have us go a few days early and stay at POR and then leave the 15th or 16th depending on flights.

I can always remember Chip is the brown/black nose by thinking "Chocolate Chip"

Just barely overlapping! You guys usually arrive late no? We'll be doing on non-park day hotel switch, prep for TOT on the 4th. Leaving on the 5th :(

Good tip about Chip :thumbsup2

I'm actually thinking we will arrive on Sept 30th to POR for a few days and then move to SSR. Flying on Fridays is so expensive so am thinking we will go before SSR and we love YeHaa Bob so it makes sense to stay at POR first right?!?! Also I will be spending some time in Colorado first so am hoping to arrive in the evening instead of crazy late at night.

Sooooo - I did my FP selections. I didn't really stress over it too much. It was kinda a PITA with the way the website works. I don't like how you have to select the minimum amount of FPs ... like what if you only want 1 or 2? I did the placeholder 1st thing in the morning but ... yeah.

About the only thing I really wanted was those elusive Anna & Elsa FPs....DD10 is not big into characters right now but she LOVES Frozen (duh). The line to see them (no FP) at DL is *insane* :headache: I did get one for one of our MK days -- it's an evening one but I think it works well with the plans to attend the Fireworks Dessert party -- we can go visit A&E after dinner then head to the party. The other FPs I think will be fairly easy to re-arrange as needed.... but I did loosely follow easyWDW touring plans recommendations for my original selections. I also grabbed a couple different times of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in case we want to ride it again (it's a unique to WDW ride, plus it's new :) )

And oh yeah -- checked in online for AKL. I can't believe how close the trip is getting!!! :cool1:

Ugh, i've just been hearing not good things about the FP+. It was fairly easy for us in October, but it sounds like they have changed it all up. Can't wait to try it..not:rolleyes:

At least you got the A&E meet and SDMT! That's perfect.

I think it's just SO weird. To pick out your ride schedule before you leave. But hey, I might really like it -- not having to go to the ride to get a FP, then go back and ride it. :confused3 I didn't have any problem getting the FPs I wanted ...of course staying onsite I had that 60 day advantage. Hmmmm. Let's just say I'm undecided on FP+ right now ;)

I'm SO glad I got A&E though. DD10 and I just got back from a last minute girls trip to DL. I booked an Ariel's Grotto princess brunch on our departure day as a "goodbye DL" meal. We checked out Kenny the Pirate's suggestions for character interactions, and DD10 had the BEST time asking the princesses (We had all the originals ... Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, Aurora) questions. It was really cute. BTW, Ariel's breakfast was really yummy and a lot more mellow than lunch there. It was a nice way to end the trip :)

You're so right. It almost feels wrong to have to schedule times for rides. I mean, we all have a basic park schedule of when we should ride the attractions based on popularity, but whoa. Now you have to make sure your ADR's don't coincide with FP+! Crazy.

However, it was kind of nice having it as a back up plan. We didn't intend on using the rides, I had made FP+ selections, just to mess around with it. But when we were actually in the park and were like, "What do you want to do?", I would remember about FP+ and realize, hey! We could go on a ride right now with little to no wait if we want! Pretty nice in that sense.
