No one will admit it. :cool2: But I need to ask!! Who among You, have found a creative way to get Yourselves away from the sometimes CRAZY pace of a large family gathering at Disney?.DITCHING :scared1:......(You know Who You are)......I beleive this may be the best kept secret at Disney! What Tactics do You deploy? :confused3

We've taken many family vacations over the years, and I think they were successful because nobody expected everyone to do everything as a group. In talking about the trip, there were usually a few things everyone wanted to do and we'd do those together. We'd also try to meet up at least once a day for lunch or dinner. No pressure though if someone couldn't (or didn't want) to make it. So, for us, it would just be.... We're going to do this. We'll catch up with you at the hotel (or dinner, etc).

I often go back to DTD to walk around at night and enjoy the atmosphere after everyone else has decided to call it a day.

:rotfl: I used that to get away from my DH, DS and DD one trip. Then I went over to Epcot WS, had a couple of drinks and did some shopping.

Luckily they stayed at DHS until it closed and I beat them back to the resort. LOL

Be honest about wanting to spend some time on your own?
You are fortunate. I've been trying to get family and friends to do Disney together for years, no go.:sad2:I'd gladly trade places :goodvibes

I Understand Your point!! ,................This has more to do with those stressfull moments when caught in the full tide of friends and family asking (What next and when do We eat?).........Kinda stuff!! NOT THE LACK OF LOVE.............

Haven't really had this experience at Disney, but we have large family reunions every couple years. Usually we all eat breakfast and supper together. During the day we might go off by ourselves for a few hours or maybe go visit with one other family. Getting a few hours to ourselves seems to ground us a little. Much as I love being with my extended family we need a break now and then.
