dissapointed to see the weather for june 18th-25th will be Widely scattered tstorms. & Mostly cloudy. :( ... gutted

Don't panic afternoon thunder storms are usual at this time of year. You will still get plenty of sun.

I wouldn't worry it said that for nearly every day of our holiday last month and only three times we had any rain in 24th days.

there are thunderstorms every single day in orlando....
usually at 4 in the afternoon, like clockwork...
that is orlando weather.....but the storms usually only last for an hour..

not to worry, you are going to fry to death in orlando....
it will probably be in the 90's every single day you are there...
you are going to pray for a let up in the heat and humidity and sun and sunburn..

i'll eat my hat if you don't fry to death on your holiday... :)

Weather beyond 5 days is complete guesswork. You will probably see them alter it near you get. Our Feb trip did not look great weather at all 10-12 days out then each day we got nearer they kept improving the forcast, when we got there it was 80-85 every day and no rain.

As others have said expect an afternoon shower, its normal and quite welcome in that heat.

If you are very unlucky rain can last more than a few hours, usually its a 10 min downpour and gone.

im away that week 2, weather dont look good but hopefully it will change like the above post said, if not take a few jumpers / long troussers to change into thats what i will be doing !

Welcome to DISboards. You really won't need jumpers & long trousers 2nd half of June on Florida, it will be in the 90's every day with a possible shower to cool you off. As I said we were there in Feb, one of the colder months and it was 85 every day. Nov-April yes you could need to wrap up in the evenings, June onwards is Very hot.

Welcome to the DIS!!

As Wayne said, you really will not need jumpers and other warm cloths in June! The daytime is baking and the evenings/mornings are still very very warm!

If you don't like getting wet you could pack some waterproofs but to be honest, the storms don't normally last too long and you will soon dry off once the sun is back out!

:wave2: I know this is usually true but once, in my 50+ visits (which includes frozen fountains in January and a hurricane in September for good measure) we had the most awful weather during the first week of June. Virtually non-stop rain and overcast every single day. (Found out later they had the equivalent of a full month's rain in that one week) True, it was in the 90s, but from inside the A/C'd minivan with the rain and the grey sky, it resembled home!

Still OP, the chance of Elise79 being spot on and your not having our awful experience is high, so I wouldn't worry :thumbsup2

as i've already said - it will be HOT...
HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT....

did i mention it would be HOT?....

the only reason i bring a sweatshirt with me to orlando in the summer is to wear indoors because the air conditioning is so strong ..

but outside? It will be in the 90's every day.....maybe if you're very very very lucky, the temp will drop to 85....

last june when i was there on my own (for a conference) i called my husband to tell him to remind me never to go to orlando in the summer again..

of course, this summer, we're all going to orlando again...call me crazy..

but again - it's going to be HOT....probably rainy...but HOT...

HOT....
really....no joke....it will be HOT....

anyone who tells you otherwise is pulling your leg...

it will be HOT....hotter than you thought possible...

and humid....really really really really really humid.....really.....you'll walk around with a thick sheen of sweat on your body...

did i mention it would be HOT....

so was that overkill? the point is, when it's overcast in florida it's not the same as when it's overcast in the UK>...two completely different things...

We have 2 friends there now, got a message from them a few minutes ago, unbearably hot for one of them, far hotter than he expected.:rotfl2:

yes, it will be hot - but it's florida - you can live in the pool all day....woo hoo!!!!!

and don't get upset about it being hot...
there is a way to manage the heat..

you get to the parks before opening and then leave in the early afternoon....
spend the afternoon (during the worst part of the heat) in the pool...
then go back to the parks in the evening...

you don't have to do that of course...

we tend to get to the parks early...then leave about 1:30 PM...
in the afternoon we rest, go shopping, go to disneyquest, go to the movies, whatever..
then just after the thunderstorm is over we'll go to typhoon lagoon (the waterpark) for 2 hours until it closes...

then back to the room to wash up..

then back to the park at night...

we're a bit on the commando side of things....very psycho, have to get every minute of our park time in...

but it's possible to function well despite the killer heat....

Our experience is how Beth described it... hot.

When it rains you will think you need an ark. However an hour or so later you will bearly see a puddle.

spoke to my sister yesterday who is in Florida and she said they have had temputures of 90=95 everyday since she arrived and they have had some little rain late afternoon , you really will not need any jumpers :thumbsup2

oh right....good point....you'll definitely think you need an ark...
i have never seen the sky open with a wall of water the way it comes down in orlando...
but as Reid said - usually an hour later it stops and the sun comes back out..

Dont be gutted - like the others have said scattered thunderstorms in Orlando at that time of the year is the norm! It will come down very hard and fast and the ground will be completely soaked with massive puddles and about half an hour later, you will see steam coming up off the floor and the sun will dry it out in no time - I swear! I couldnt believe it when I first saw that happen!

You can buy ponchos in the parks if you are unprepared but our plan that always works for us (unless of course we are nowhere near a shelter of any kind) is that when you get that first spot of rain....just one fat spot....we look at eachother and mentally scream 'RUNNNNNNNN' and get under a shelter because within about 10 seconds, you will be drenched! Its pretty funny actually!

Welcome to the DIS! Same as above and like suggested, do not waste your luggage allowance with jumpers and long trousers because you will not need them at all! Seriously, it will be very HOT and very HUMID and even when it rains, its still hot! Just get under cover for half an hour, watch the rain, watch the steam and then get back out there and enjoy the rest of the day!

Hope you both have loads of fun & enjoy your trip! Dont take too much notice of the weather reports, theyre quite often wrong! :thumbsup2

So, tell me Beth, is it going to be hot at all?? :rotfl:

Did she way mention it? :confused3 ............................................. :lmao:

I agree with Beth's point that the forecast you get over here can be totally off. I think every trip we have taken the 10 day forecast I have checked before we left has had rain expected for every single day. Yet we have only ever had one day of rain - and even then, it was a shortish, fleeting thundershower.
