Hey everybody- got a question and I figure if anybody knows, it would be fellow DISers... We are leaving for the World in a little less than a week. For months now, DS7 and DD4 have been doing "extra chores" around the house in exchange for souvenir money to put in their Mickey Bank to take on our trip. I know that we could exchange it for Disney Dollars once we get there, but we would really rather not have to keep up with all of the bills. Does anyone know if Disney offers some sort of prepaid card to use at the parks and DTD? If the kids each have $100 for their souvenir money, we could say, put that money on the card and be able to track the amount that's left after each purchase and then when it's gone, it's gone. I suppose we could just put it on our credit card, but we would really rather keep it separate. Anyone know if such a thing exists? Could we use our resort key card for this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated :flower:

We're getting really excited. The kids (yeah, right, just the kids) can hardly contain themselves at this point. :jumping1:

Funny you asked this . . . I saw what looked like gift cards in the Emporium at MK and thought, "I wonder what those are for". Of course, for once, I just walked on by and did not go back to check it out. Rats!

Perhaps you can call one of the hotels and ask them, or even Disney Travel or Disney Merchandising. Maybe they can assist.

Their direct numbers are:

Pop Century Hotel: 1-407-938-4000
Disney Travel: 1-407-939-6244
Disney Merchandising: 1-407-363-6200

Let us know what you find out! :flower:

Hi,
Disney World does have a gift card. I wrote to them asking about them and they said it is sold in the parks and at the resorts. You can also order them with $6.95 shipping cost, but it seems like it would be too late for you to do that. So try giving them a call they should have more information.

Just back from Disney and saw the WDW gift cards EVERYWHERE! You will have no problem finding them! I think it is a cool idea for kids! :cool1: Just becareful they are not lost!

Thanks guys- I knew I could find the answer here! :goodvibes
I actually called yesterday to check and one person told me that yes, they do have them and before I could find out where to purchase them from her, my phone cut out. (just when I think things are getting a little bit more "back to normal" around here, I'm reminded of just how far from normal it really is) I called back and got someone else who told me that all they have are Disney Dollars, no cards. Go figure. But thanks everybody for the info. Really appreciated. I guess you probably figured out that we are from the MS Coast. We made it through Katrina with minimal damage at our house (thank the Lord), just had some minor flooding in the garage, but it stopped short of the front door. The kids are out of school now and are set to go back on October 3rd. We had planned this trip 6 months ago. Can't help but feel a little guilty about going but we are really looking forward to some well needed happiness and pixie dust. Wish us luck that Rita doesn't spoil our plans. :umbrella:

YEP...They got 'em! Just received mine in the mail on Saturday. Thre is a $6.95 s/h fee and it takes 7 days for them to arrive. But as other posters said, they are available all over WDW. I just needed mine as a B-day gift for my DD. We go to WDW 3 days after her B-day. Now she can buy her Pal Mickey! It is a great way to not have to carry around a lot of Disney Dollars or cash! Kathy :earsgirl: Have a great trip!!!

I saw these at the World of Disney store in New York City when we were there this past Saturday.

OT: We went to the city for a 90th birthday party for Raggedy Ann at FAO.

Thanks for the info, everybody. We used the cards when we went and they worked like a charm!
