We are getting married this November and I ordered them for our entire bridal party - I got one for my DF and myself also and both our dads.

Great gifts for wedding parties. I am planning on ordering the duffle bags for the guys. I already purchased Disney tote bags for the girls.

I'm getting the Maleficent bag, too! I was stoked when I saw her as one of my choices! She's my favorite, but doesn't get much face time on the Disney Store site... poor Maleficent :(

ANYWAY, I was thinking about ordering ones for my kid's teachers. To those who have them already, do you think they're good enough quality to give as gifts?

I'm putting in my messenger bag order at disneyshopping.com right now and there's a $5 personalization charge :headache: At least I'm buying enough other items to get $5 shipping and 20% off, but still, now I'm wishing I'd ordered it earlier.

You might want to call them. Someone posted something earlier saying the $5 personalization is a mistake on the website and they weren't charged for it.

To be honest, I think the tote bags would be a better choice for a teacher. There is a small, medium, or large, and they have an open top.

Just my .02.

I'm debating ordering a backpack or a small messenger bag, or maybe a backpack for me and the lunch totes for the kids. We have plenty of backpacks and lunchbags around here, but I'm thinking the personalizing might reduce the chance of someone swiping our bag? Argh. They are so cute but I'm not supposed to be spending any more money this month!

If you could only pick the backpack or the small messenger bag which would you choose for an adult? If you could only pick the small messenger bag or the lunch tote for a child which would you choose? Is the strap on the lunch tote comfy for a child?

I've already ordered quite a few WDW clothing items for the kids and am contemplating putting them all in a messenger bag as a surprise for when we get to the townhouse, but I'm thinking the lunch totes (if the shoulder straps are comfy) would be perfect for them to each pack a juice box, water bottle, and snack in for inside the parks.

emmsmama,

I'll gladly give you my two cents...

I ordered the backpack for myself and am very excited :cool1:

I have already received two small messenger bags for my kids and love them :cool1:

that said, though...

My kids are 5 and 7. We are using the messenger bags for plane carryons to hold their activities and snacks, but my kids would never be able to carry these bags all day in the parks...the padded straps are nice, but the bags are really quite large. My kids will each carry a small fannypack for their sunglasses and disney dollars, and they have waterbottles I bought at the dollar store that sling across their bodies, and that's about all they can manage to carry in the park. The messenger bags are just too big, IMHO, so it depends on what you plan to use them for. (If you really want the kids to carry a bag into the park, maybe a backpack would help a child to better distribute the weight?)

Before the stroller price increase, we would have rented a single stroller in case DD's feet wore out...we would also have used the stroller to load our bag of snacks & water bottles. Now DH and I will alternate carrying the backpack which seems perfect for this purpose.

The messenger bags are absolutely darling, but would even be a little too big to carry into the parks for an ADULT (with no kids). It would be too big for me if I didn't have to carry snacks, water, etc...so I can't imagine kids using them as park bags.

I'm sure others will also weigh in...hopefully some people whose kids have used them as park bags.

Good luck!

We leave on Saturday---6 days!!! Both of my kids got the messenger bag for our trip, mostly to use on the airplane. I might use one of them for the parks, haven't decided yet. I ordered the baggallini and plan on using it at the parks.

I'll let you know how the bags worked out for us! I hope they do hold up because DD wants to use it for school when we get back.

I agree that the small messenger bag is too big for a child to carry in the parks. My girls will be ages 5 and 8 when we go and they couldn't carry it.
They will use theirs for carry ons for the plane trip :)
I will carry mine in the park with my camera and probably the girls refillable mugs (so that they can get their drinks on the way back to their rooms at night, and also in case they want to split a large "snack" beverage.
I'll put whatever other little things I think we need to carry (sunglasses, etc). Oh, and I'll also carry their autograph books :cutie:

There are some new bags at www.disneyshopping.com.

http://*******.com/6x4d9x THIS LINK ISN'T WORKING

ETA: Maybe this will? http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...N=0&Ntk=p_categoryID&Ntt=11833&Nu=p_productID if not go to disney shopping and look under womens and accessories. That's where I found the new additions to their bag collection.

I love tote bags and use them all the time going to and from school. I'm not sure which bags I'll end up taking to the park with me when I go in Nov/Dec but I'm certainly going to have quite the collection by the time I go LOL. :rotfl2:

Cute new bags! the 4 totes for $16.99 are even cheaper cause you can personalize them without the additional charge!

Oh MAN! Look at the insulated backpack cooler!

Maybe I'll get that one for DH since I'm taking the personalized backpack...he can tote some water and snacks to keep them cool and I can tote things like autograph books, ponchos, etc....?

I just wish they'd had everythiing all at once...I hate paying for shipping!

If you buy it today use the code "PLUTO" and you'll get 30% off if you spend $75. I don't recall the amount you have to spend but for a lesser amount spent you can get 20% off. Use SHIPFOR5 to get $5 shipping.

Thanks, I wasn't planning on the messenger bags for the kids for the parks, but was curious what the lunch tote straps were like.

I got an e-mail with a new code.

If you spend $60 you get $15 off with the code TAXBREAK.

I placed my order for 7 bags on 4/8/08 and just got an email that it shipped on 4/14/08!
Can't wait to get them! :yay:

I got my box of 7 bags today (4/16/08) and they are all great!
I must say, I love :lovestruc the lunch tote! I will definitely use it as a park bag. It's quite roomy and seems sturdier than the small messenger bags. The lunch tote has a nice long strap, too! :)

Did anyone get the cinch bags w/Disney on them? I was looking @ this but I do not think it would be good for the parks...It would be too heavy for the kids. what do you think?

Good news, a new code for 25% off sitewide, it's good for the weekend.
FORYOU25 :)
