Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Looks like if you want anything shipped to your resort its going to cost you an additional $5.00, according to another website!!

So back to this ^^^

Package Delivery Fee.jpg

As far as I can tell, this applies only to packages mailed through the front desk, which for Yacht & Beach Club are mailings made through United States Postal Service. I am assuming (who knows if I am correct) that UPS and FedEx shippings will continue to go to the Convention Center mail room and will be subject to a weight-based pickup fee, and will have to be picked up by the guest during the limited hours.

From what I have read so far, the $5 package fee does not apply to deliveries from Garden Grocer or other services that drop off at the resorts, including stroller/scooter/wheelchair rentals.

But I would appreciate anyone sharing their actual experiences about how all of this is working.

Thanks!

Thank you!!! We leave tomorrow and of course, I cannot find the pool noodles! When we were there a few years ago, we did see some abandoned ones but I wanted to not chance it this visit. Thanks again!

Crappy picture, but this is from Jan 2016, Beach Club Marketplace, Pool Noodle: $4.95:

Have a fantastic trip!

:woohoo:

I was able to adjust the dates a bit and now we have a BWI/YC split. Oct 10-20, 2017.
Relaxing at Stormalong Bay is the best! :beach: Dee, could you add us to the BOG list? Thanks a bunch! :flower:

I am so excited, we just booked our trip for next August! We are doing a BC and Poly spilt. My only previous on-site stay was All Stars Sports last August. I have always wanted to experience an Epcot resort, I can't believe it is really happening!

55 days until I'm back in 'the World' and 60 days until my first YC stay!
I have a confession though... I am starting to worry about the YC refurb that will be going on during our stay :sad2:
Anybody have any insight on this? Should I just fork over the extra $$ for BC?

We are checking in Thursday and my Wife's custom ears have been delivered already to BC via USPS. I'll let you know if I get charged the fee! I don't know when the fees were put in place, but there were none for the two packages received at the Poly in May.

We may do a Garden Grocer order depending on our timings so will let you know :)

I'll make the changes to the list.

Excited that we officially have our Disney trip booked for August 2-9, 2017! We're doing a split stay- 4 nights at Beach Club and 3 nights at Animal Kingdom. Can't wait!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 (Post 15).

My first trip to the BC was following a my first onsite stay at All Star Music.

I think you will be very happy with the location and the resort!

::yes::

Just got back from our stay less than a month ago and already booked my trip for next year. Will be staying at a BCV 1 BR 10/14-10/19 and then to Universal Royal Pacific 10/19-10-25. I'm so pumped but I have a long time to wait.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:thumbsup2

Is it also a return trip to Universal or first visit? Love it there!

IMHO, I think you should stick to the YC for a few reasons.

I believe the resort staff will do their best to ensure that guests' experiences are not disrupted by the planned renovations. We have not heard whether the work will be done floor to floor (starting on the 5th floor, club level and working downward) or if it will be done wing-to-wing, like the recent Beach Club Villa renovations. But in either case, I am hopeful that guests will be placed away from work that is being done.

Also, color me skeptical, but the proposed work has been rescheduled a number of time. I don't have any "inside" info about when the work is actually going to start, but I will believe it when the walls actually start going up.

And finally, if you arrive and do find that the work is impacting the enjoyment of your stay, you can always politely ask if there are other options within the YC resort or at the BC that would be better.

Thanks so much.

This is new policy, announced last week, I think.

I'll be interested in hearing feedback about how it is being implemented.

Have a fantastic trip!

Ah right, I'll soon see how they take payment etc then.

Thanks Dee, excited can't even describe it! I'm not very productive in the office today!

Does anyone know if all of the BCV studios have the pull down bed (occupancy 5)? The DVC point rental companies don't have updated info on that. Thank you!

The BCV studios do now have the pull down bed.
However DVC has not updated the official occupancy as of yet. Therefore the rental companies can not.
On the official DVC Member web site the occupancy of the BCV is still only 4. There is no word yet on when that will change.

:welcome: to this thread and to posting on the DIS!

Do you have a trip booked or are you in the planning stages.

As indicated in another response, yes, the studios all have the pull down beds and no, the occupancy info about the rooms has not been changed. Not sure why the occupancy does not reflect the change or when that may happen. Many are frustrated about this.

Thank you! Am just in planning stages of a potential last minute trip in late Jan or early Feb. We stayed at Wilderness Lodge on our last trip 2 yrs ago & loved it, looking for something new this time just to mix it up.

Up before the sun to make our FP+ selections. 60 days until our first stay at BC Jan 21-24, then The Poly (our usual resort) for 3 additional nights.:jumping1:
So excited to check out more of the Epcot resort area. Thanks to the regulars here for all the great tips.

I have you down for the end of Jan, I'll add in your exact dates.

Hope you were able to get the FPs you wanted!

Hi guys. We're on the saddest bus ride of the week. DME back to the airport. Everyone had a great time. Half of me wants to stay forever and the other half knows it's time to go home and get back to routine and reality. The kids are at that point where they alternate between wanting another ride and asking to go home.

The good news is that we're already booked back. Dee, could you please add us for December 8-15, 2017.

I'll write up a trip report after we get home and settled. The good, the very good, the bad, and the ugly.
