Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

@EasternShoreGal Thank you so much for successfully completing the "coffee maker" mission! It sounds like your trip is off to a great start.

Thanks again for taking time out of your trip to post!

Yes, that more than helps! That makes us count down the night before we are there with even more enthusiasm! We are really looking forward to these waffles!
:thanks:

We will be at the BC for 10 nights so we really enjoyed reading your go with the flow approach. Whenever our DDs ask about this upcoming trip, they check that we are still going that long because they want us to enjoy Disney slowly:snail:

To both of you, it was my pleasure. I totally enjoy these missions. Seriously, any other requests...even at the parks or Disney Springs? We are even swinging some "dark side" time. We do get around. I am happy to check on anything or take pics. Your wish is my mission. :genie: And with regards to the go with the flow theme, our first day at the dark side was decided at 8:30 yesterday morning and DD didn't even have a ticket yet, but more on that later.

I think I still have one request left, which is to take pictures of the bathroom near Ariels grotto. Except that I needed some clarifications which I don't think I have yet. Was I dreaming the request? I couldn't find it going back several pages. Let me know if you requested this. Also, there was a funky smell going on in that area and we didn't want to stick around. It did improve later.

BTW, of note at SAB, the two hot tubs built into the rocks near the spa had signs posted on them last evening that they were for guests 18 and older. I have never seen that in the many times we have been to YAB and SAB. I was told by a few of the guests that either the day before or maybe it was earlier in the day, only one was marked that way. Not sure if it is a time thing or not, but I like the idea of having one of them adult only. Not sure that both of them should be.

Flav, when is your trip? If you are taking the go with the flow approach, my suggestion is to do what works best based on the weather. :beach: Some of our fondest memories have been the poolside conversations with other guests. In fact, we have met a couple of families so far and had quite a lively conversation last evening poolside. :drinking1We closed SAB. Super nice, friendly folks. Oh, BTW, SAB has been closing at 10pm since we have been here. In years past it has been 11pm. Not sure if this is because we are here a little earlier this year or what. DD thinks that is too early. Me too. We usually shoot for dinner at 7:30 and love coming back for a last dip. 10 is pushing it unless we are dining in Epcot or at the resort.

Hubby coming today. Looking forward to him joining us but will miss the quality mommy daughter time. The conversations were stimulating. :rotfl2:image.jpeg

TTFN!

Thanks again for doing your part to help everyone out!

If I think of something else we need here, I'll let you know, but I usually think of something AFTER the person who volunteered has returned from their trip!

Actually, we had a recent question about the drinks available for refill mugs and I don't have a current picture of the soft drink dispensers in the Marketplace. So that would be great! Also, the Kid's Menu board from the Marketplace now that Mickey Waffles are available. I have a picture from April, but it is already outdated! ;)

Have fun at the Dark Side!

Hmmm... I remember a request for this more than a year ago in a previous thread- from a woman whose daughter was going to have a wedding function at Ariel's Grotto and wanted a picture of the bathroom nearby. We were able to provide a picture. I don't remember a recent question, but I could have missed it. I'll search this thread for bathrooms to see if I can find a request.

ETA: I went back through posts to the first of the year with "bathroom" and I didn't see anything.

:thanks:

Of course we are taking the "go with the flow" approach but are planning a pool day if weather permits. Last night the forecast was for thunderstorms staring at 6am but what a difference a night makes. Forecast Has changed to partly cloudy with thunderstorms at 3...typical Florida weather. SAB here we come until the storms come in. Is this going to be another 6pm dash from the pool to showers in order to make a dinner reservation? Maybe :cool1:

I have my mission and will complete it. One a day would really be nice! Come on out there folks, all you have to do is ask. I will abandon the Ariels grotto mission. Wasn't my favorite anyway. I am, however, here to serve (and drink a few cocktails, ride a few rides and generally create chaos).party:

The Dark Side was fun yesterday. :wizard: Back sometime next week once hubby is here.

I really hope the closing of the two gates at Stormalong Bay is just a temporary measure and not a permanent cost cutting measure to reduce the staff wages bill.

me too - so how do you get to the entrance to the pool now? Its not the one by CMC?

Greetings from YC!!! Just wanted to pop in and say hi from the happiest place on Earth :) Was trying to remember, did someone want pics of the YC Club Lounge? If so, let me know and I'm happy to take some.

Only thing to report.. we were out enjoying some wine on our balcony last night after a long day at MK and we heard fireworks at 12:45 am... I went down the hall to see where they were coming from and they were over dolphin/swan... not sure if they were testing a new show, or if one of the parks actually does fireworks that late?

So far enjoying our stay and DS had a blast yesterday morning at SAB, forgot how wonderful it is!!

I would love to see some new pics of the CL lounge! We will be there in 60 days!! :beach:

They are testing the new SW show this week!

Forgot to add that DH and I used the bounceback offer for YC and we'll be back Sept. 9 - 11. Hopefully dragging my older brother along since he didn't join us in May!

I'm starting to think we're getting a little Disney crazy :rolleyes1 (just this morning, we decided we wanted to drive down for a weekend vacation and will be staying at CBR -- what???)

Happy Friday everyone! :yay:

I have a question for those folks that make the trek from the BCV/BC/YC area to DHS and back again. We have only done this once and it was at night after leaving DHS at park close. Since we were unfamiliar with the route, we stuck to the main sidewalk and took the long route (straight up the illuminated Boardwalk sign and the full length of the Boardwalk until we reached the crossover bridge).

I've seen posts about cutting through the clown pool at BW. Can anyone give me an idea as to the landmarks, signage, or items I need to look for to take this shortcut (from both walking to and returning from DHS)?

Thanks!!

I'll give it a shot...... From the BW to HS you'll walk past the surrey bike rental kiosk on your left and friendship boat loading docks on your right. Take your first left [just before the ScreenDoor store] past Wyland Galleries and then your first right which will bring you to the Clown pool. Veer to the left around the Clown pool and you'll run right in to the walkway to HS. On the way back from HS, you'll see the Clown pool roller coaster waterslide and there will be an entrance to the pool area on the backside of the slide. Reverse above and you'll be right back to the BW! We enjoy the walk over the boat! Have fun!

I love the detailed instructions...I need to remember to avert my eyes at the Clown pool so I don't have visions of Pennywise at night!

Thank you so much for taking to the time to post!! :goodvibes

Some YC Club level lounge pics, sorry they aren't the best, I was in a hurry to get to the pool!

Thank you so much!!! Great pictures.

::yes::

ps no more bottled water at YC CL :(

That stinks!!!

Did they offer any alternatives like filling water bottles with filtered water? What do they offer for drinking water in the lounge? Can you fill a glass and then transfer to a reusable bottle? Not the best option, though.

:sad2:

When we were there in Feb they offered to fill our existing water bottles for us.

They had glasses for water in the lounge.
