Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Flav, when is your trip? If you are taking the go with the flow approach, my suggestion is to do what works best based on the weather. :beach: Some of our fondest memories have been the poolside conversations with other guests. In fact, we have met a couple of families so far and had quite a lively conversation last evening poolside. :drinking1We closed SAB. Super nice, friendly folks.

We will be at the BC in August. We have been to Disney before at that time of the year and, I agree, it is best to do with the weather than to try to be too rigid. We have built in some time off, hopefully we will be spending in at SAB. :beach:

Worst case, my kids love Disney Channel:happytv: and I'd like to try some of the lounges :drinking1

Thank you so much!!! Great pictures.

::yes::

That stinks!!!

Did they offer any alternatives like filling water bottles with filtered water? What do they offer for drinking water in the lounge? Can you fill a glass and then transfer to a reusable bottle? Not the best option, though.

:sad2:

There is a big container that you can fill a glass with water or a to go cup. I did see some people refilling water bottles but it looks a little unsanitary because the lip of the water bottle can touch the spicket if people aren't careful enough :(

So excited for our BC stay August 22-26th (after 4 nights at CR and before 7 nights at PORS). Can anyone confirm if they are still selling Pineapple Floats (Dole Whips) poolside? Last summer they were closed a lot, but we managed to get pineapple floats one day. I'd love one every day of our BC stay :thumbsup2

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:cool2:

When I was there at the end of August last year, they still had the signs out for the Pineapple Treats (they were not allowed to call them Dole Whips) at SAB, but we never saw the stand open. We asked and they told us they opened when staffing allowed it.

I haven't heard reports that they will be offered again this summer.

If anyone happens to find out they are selling the Frozen Pineapple Treats poolside this year, please let us know.

I think I still have one request left, which is to take pictures of the bathroom near Ariels grotto. Except that I needed some clarifications which I don't think I have yet. Was I dreaming the request? I couldn't find it going back several pages. Let me know if you requested this. Also, there was a funky smell going on in that area and we didn't want to stick around. It did improve later.

TTFN!

Loving your reports. Hope you continue to enjoy your trip. Wondering, if its not too much trouble, could we get a pic of the soda and iced tea dispensers in Marketplace? I assume they are the same at Hurricane Hannahs. New diet restrictions with some medical issues over the last year (off the diet coke unfortunately) and we are back at the YC/BC for our fourth summer (yah!) in August and wondering if there is lemonade in the dipsenser (not diet) as i could add a little of that to unsweetened iced tea to make up for the lack of diet coke I usually overload on when there. Thanks. So enjoying your reports. :)

It was not open when we were there a couple of weeks ago. :(

We just got back from a trip a week ago and I am already planning out next one lol. If all goes well at the 7 month mark we will be staying at BCV January 2017! I'm hoping it will be fairly easy to book (home resort is Poly) since it's a slow time and will probably be too cold for most people to swim at SAB. Excited to try out an Epcot resort!

Good Luck. But depending on when in January this is still a busy time for DVC reservations.

Not sure what the impact will be yet but the NFL announced that starting this coming January (2017), the annual Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando as part of a multi-year deal. I read a blurb on DIS news that they expect attendance to increase at WDW figuring folks will come for the game and combine it with a Disney vacation.

Will be ordering a cake to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Not sure if I want it delivered to the room or one of our dinner restaurants.

Do you have to be in the room for delivery?

I did this last year. You need to be checked into your room but you don't need in the room at the time it is delivered.

My pleasure. On page 153, of the Cake Chatter Part IV thread, is a photo of my cake and how it was set up by YC/BC Fine Dining. I had it delivered as a surprise for DH after we returned from Illuminations.

I looked it up. That was a beautiful cake. Thanks for sharing the picture.

I see that the kids lunches at hurricane Hannah's come in a sand pail. Did I read somewhere that if you don't get the sand pail the lunch meal is cheaper? I believe the kids meal with the pail is almost $9.

I can't remember the price but you can order the kids items without the sides.
