Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Got 'em! Thanks so much.

Was there a daybed in either room?

:goodvibes

There was a daybed in each room 5343 znd 5345 which were connecting rooms.

Also regarding Fittings and Fairings, I took those pictures very early before they opened so I am not sure if they were open while they worked on remodel but it looked like it would be. They still had merchandise out. Only part of the store was blocked off which you can kind of see in one of the pictures.

Thanks, and thanks! I'll add that to the post I made in the Beach Club room views thread.

That is what others were reporting about F&F, that part of it remained opened while they had the space they were working on blocked off.

:thumbsup2

Hi all, I am so excited to find this thread! We are staying at the Beach Club for the first time over Labor Day weekend. Thanks so much for all of the great information. This is quite the resource! We've stayed at Boardwalk before and enjoyed ourselves but we kept staring across the lake and now we're making it happen.

If you are planning a visit for this fall, you will want to get reservations made very soon. The Food and Wine Festival tends to make the DVC properties very difficult to book that time of year. Owners can make reservations at the 11 month mark for the home resort, so it would help to make the reservation by using an owner at BCV. Owners at other DVC can book at 7 months, but availability is often an issue at that point.

Maybe you could have her go to Sandcastles while you and your mom do the tour...

EDITED: Oops...never mind, I just looked at the hours and it seems it's evening only...since my kids were older when we started going to WDW, I've never used the child care, but have heard people say the kids love it. Wonder why they don't have daytime hours for parents who want to do tours....

I wish they had daytime hours also!! She went once on our last trip and she loved it!!!!

My son (age 7) and I should be booking YC for August 27 to September 3. Great way to end summer vacation :) Never stayed deluxe before! We are pretty excited! This thread was very helpful in deciding where to stay.
If your kiddo is at all into pirates, the Albatross Pirate Adventure Cruise out of the Bayside Marina is the BOMB!!! He goes off on a boat with a Disney Skipper and First Mate, he gets to invade Canada (really!), and you get two hours of "me time." If you do it, be sure you're at the dock a few minutes before they get back because it's a fantastic photo opp. pirate:pirate:pirate:

Our grandchildren did this cruise and had a great time. They were age 6 and 8 at the time, perfect ages for this. :)

Thank you for the information. I have rented DVC points previously at VGF and understand how the system works. However, this trip we are staying at the Beach Club resort, not DVC. Our reservation was booked about a month ago. I am sure other newbies will find this information helpful.

Please add us to the Be Our Guest List. Will be our first stay at BC.
November 13-17.

Will do!

:cool1:

WDW News Today is reporting that both the Yacht Club and Contemporary will begin offering an express dining service starting today. The "express" menu will be in addition to the regular room service menu. If anyone will be at the Yacht Club soon, I'd be interesting is seeing what items are on the express menu.

Thanks!

I'm hoping some of our friends here will have a chance to check it out and report back.

::yes::

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I have been to Disney at the end of August- it is a great time to visit the World!

:woohoo:

May I add both of these reviews/comments to the section in Post 5 I have about the Albatross cruise? (Can't remember if I already have some from you ~Sue)

I warned you, once you have been to the DARK SIDE you would finally understand the true power of the YC/BC!!!!!

Love them both, I do

You can add my comments to the first page. I'll even include a little more information. ;)

Here is a link to the information from the Disney website:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/pirate-adventure-cruises/

You have to call ahead of time to make a reservation. A parent has to check the child in. The cruise begins at the Yacht Club Marina at 9am, although I think the kids are supposed to arrive 15 minutes early. The "pirates" wear a cute black life jacket and a pirate bandana on their heads. They travel into Epcot and dock near the Canada pavilion. They make a pit stop at the restrooms before they look for treasure in the Canada pavilion near the Kidcot spot. They bring back a little treasure chest with some fun goodies inside. And they get a snack at the end of the cruise. It is a two hour cruise and the kids have a great time. :)

From *************.com..."10 Decadent Reasons Why We Love Disney World's Beaches and Cream Soda Shop"

Now it will be even more difficult to get an ADR!

I was going to add more information, too, but Wood Nymph beat me to the punch with everything I would have said! :-) But yes, please add my comments. My son was 9 at the time and absolutely LOVED it. He's since done the cruise out of the Grand Floridian at age 10, and is signed up for and HUGELY excited about) the cruise out of POR in June at age 11. :-)

Can I ask if you think any of these pirate cruises would be fun for 12 year olds? My cousin has twin boys who will be 12 on our October trip and this is their first visit to Disney World. Would they like any of these cruises or are they geared for younger boys? If so, which would you recommend for a first time trip?

If they haven't hit the "jaded tween" phase of life, they'll love it. I think part of the excitement of these cruises is doing something WITHOUT your parents, and getting to see and do things the rest of your family won't. The CMs who run the cruises are consistently FANTASTIC. The first cruise my son was on (Albatross out of YC) had a couple of little kids and several older ones, and they all came back raving about how much fun they'd had. The second (out of GF), had kids about the same age BUT one had her leg in a cast, and even she came back grinning from ear to ear. Plus, they get a PILE of stuff at the end.

Again, as long as they're still embracing Disney magic, they'll have a great time. :-)

WAIT! Just realized you'd said it was their first trip to Disney World. Yes, I think they're guaranteed to love it. :-D

So which cruise would be best for them? We are staying at BC, so YC would be convenient, but could do any of them.

If you're already there, then definitely go with YC's Albatross Cruise. The YC cruise goes to Canada and all the way down to the Boardwalk and Hollywood Studios, so you can actually watch parts of it from the bridges and around the lake. Again, make sure you get to the marina about 15 minutes before the cruise is scheduled to end. As the boat pulls in, an "epic battle" takes place on the dock and the kids go absolutely crazy. ;-)
